A brief question

Post by Shane Muldoon » Wed Feb 13, 2008 7:32 pm

My mother recently had her birth entered in the FBR here in New York, and is now an Irish citizen. So my question is, is there any route that I can take to work or live in Ireland through her, without having to become naturalized citizen first?

After reading from the site you provided, and also from this site, I think I have an idea of how my residency can be obtained. If I go to the U.K. as a tourist for say a month or two. And then go to Ireland and file an EU1 form for a residence card as an non-EEA citizen, but a family member of my mother with the proof of legal EU residence being the pages in my passport. This is an idea though. Anyone that is familiar with the process I just described, pleas tell me if this a plausible scenario to acquire residence rights in Ireland?

You're mum has to be with you.

EDIT: You're mum has to be with you and she must be exercising treaty rights.
