Bringing kid to UK as a dependant of Settled Person

Post by Family » Sat Jan 07, 2012 11:59 am

Hi,

I am settled in UK & have ILR.
I appreciate, if seniors can advise me, how can I bring my 7 yr. kid to UK, after me & wife divorced.

I appreciate the help by boarders.

You need to show you have sole responsibility for your child, or that there are 'serious and compelling family or other considerations' why the child should be permitted to join you. Applying for a visa as the child of a British citizen or settled person and Children of British citizens and settled people and para 297

Hi Greenie,

Many thanks for your reply. If spouse does not allow child to travel, then it is difficult to bring child to UK, without a court order?

This may imply that you do not have sole responsibility.
