Bringing sister to UK, possible routes

Post by Aditya1234 » Tue Jan 11, 2022 2:33 pm

Hello all,
I wanted get some advice and ideas regarding my situation. I want to bring my sister (20 yrs) to UK she's currently studying in India.

The reason why I want to bring here is because of domestic violence. My father is beating her, berating and swearing at her everyday. She reported this recently to local women organisation and Police came but nothing much happened. Now he's telling her he's going to make her get married after her education finishes. Around 8 months is left for her to finish education. I'm thinking to just bring here to me because I'm scared for her safety and she has told me many times about commiting suicide.

My mother died a year ago and after this my father is treating my sister as a problem. If he gets her married he will get money for that and I think this is what he is after. Also he's been with 3 different women after my mom died. You get the idea here.

Is there a visa which my sister qualifies here? I was checking dependant visa but she doesn't qualify. I'm the only sibling to her and we don't have any relatives who are willing to take care of her in India.

Thanks for reading.

She does not qualify for any visa based on her relationship to you.

An Adult Dependent Relative visa (and yes, she is an adult after her 18th birthday) has very high requirements for disability and a very high rejection rate (~80% after appeals).

She can of course apply for a visa in her own right, as a student or a work sponsored visa.

And India is a big country. Can your sister not move to another part of the country? Can she not continue her studies in a different state, for instance?
