Hi, time for me to do citizenship after ILR, going to be lots of questions

So basically I got ILR from skilled worker visa (5 years) in Jan 2024. Should have done my citizenship in Jan this year but lots of work

I am filling the online form and checking my passport stamps. Look like border staff did not stamp my visa pages for my trips after I got my ILR. Are they already using e system so stamp not necessary?

ok, asked friends, not stamp since 2023, but do I need to provide the proof?

Are you married to a British citizen? If not, you need to wait until Jan 2025.

Sorry - I'm stuck in 2024 it seems. Maybe supplement some proof as your passport wasn't stamped since 2023, such as P60s.

Missing stamps on the passport are not an issue. For a reason UK border officers sometimes don't stamp passports.

Just need to scan and upload all the pages covering the qualifying period for citizenship. This covers the residency/absence evidence requirement.

ok a few questions

1> Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?

My answer is yes and the visa is Tier 2 General ( I have UK PhD degree and used it in Tier 2. but do I need to mention my Tier 4 student ?) I can provide UK master and PhD degree for language

2>Both my referees are British and their professions are Engineer

Do I need to mention qualification in profession? (they both have PhD degree)

3>Have you made any previous UK immigration applications?
I only put ILR, skilled worker and Doctorate extension scheme. I actually still have two tier 4 and a tier 4 extension but those applications are ancient and occurred at least 6 years ago. Really cannot find any detail for those applications

4>Tax office reference number
I have two jobs and both are on PAYE. So I have two Tax reference numbers. But I am only able to write one company there. Currently I just use my main job detail (Employer PAYE reference is Tax reference number?)

5>When did you first arrive in the UK?
I literally use the very first date (13 years ago)

1. Any of your degree certificates is a proof of knowledge of English.

2. Just mention what kind of engineer (mechanical, computer, etc).

3. Put the ones you have the required info. The same form says that no need to list them if you don't have the details, no issues with that.

4. Any job can be used (Employer PAYE reference is Tax reference number? Yes)

5. That date is fine.

Please note that having a phd is not enough to be a qualified referee - they should be members of a chartered body to be on the safe side.

Thanks, so the first referee: an professional person or aged over 25, must be British (I will use a British with only phD degree )

Second referee: any nation but must have professional standing ( can a professor at a Uk university be my referee? he used to be a Royal academic member but not currently)

only 1 referee must be professional, right?

Only 1 referee must be professional. A professor at a UK university (full professor or lecturer) is ok.

Thanks, just try to expand my option here. If a British citizen is a senior member of a famous technical conference Committee , is he ok for the second referee.

The committee is a worldwide technical program (not limited to the UK)
Because I checked the definition of a chartered body, it seems to me something within the UK. The referee professional membership can be worldwide right? (equivalent to a chartered body)

I can't answer that. The guidance specifies a UK chartered body so I would stick with that.

I only have two recent trips last year which were not covered by passport stamps
do I need to provide an employer letter? Can I use flight tickets or P60?

one trip to EU actually stamped in my passport by EU border force confirming my trip dates

About the referee forms:

1. Do I need to highlight which referee is the first or second?
I found that the online application said the first referee should be a British citizen and either a professional person or over the age of 25, the second one has professional standing
whereas the referee form said sth opposite (e.g. first is second)

2 very stupid question, on the back of the applicant photo, I need to write my name and DOB right? not the referees

3 Signatures, date and name in the form can be digitised right ?
