British citizenship - current passports expiring in the next few months

Post by ps1234 » Tue Sep 07, 2021 2:27 pm

Hi all, I am applying for british citizenship, having become eligible in August. My son's current Indian passport expires in October and mine expires in Feb 2022. Quick question: can I apply mentioning the current passport numbers knowing that in the next few months, my son and I will have new Indian passports? Will that have any impact on the document checks/application and will I need to inform them of the new passport numbers, etc?

If the passport is current at the time of application but expires during the application processing there are no issues, the expiry of passport and renewal of same doesn't need to be reported for the naturalisation application.
