British Citizenship by Decent

Post by Matthew Victor » Wed Jan 21, 2015 11:31 pm

Hi,

I have a very similar question to the one kayajhayes posed.

I was also born in 92.
I am Swedish citizen.
I was not born in England, though I have lived there.
My parents got divorced when I was 2.
My mother is Swedish/Moroccan.
My father is British/Egyptian.

But my father did not become a British citizen until after the divorce and I was living with my mother with no conection to him.

Am I still illegible for a biritish citenzenship?

I would love for Jambo or anyone to help me out.

All the best,
Matt

If your father wasn't British when you were born outside the UK, then probably no.
