A question regarding Referee

Post by mm99 » Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:45 pm

Hi all,
I am applying for British Citizenship on the basis of being spouse of a British Citizen. I am looking to put down my husband's cousin as one of the referees. He is a British citizen as well and is an finance professional.

I know that the documentation says that the referee should not be a relative but I am not sure in this case as my Husband is related to the referee but I am not?
Can anyone advise on this please ?
Many thanks.

A relative is someone related to by blood or through marriage.

A cousin is a relative by blood to your husband and by marriage to you. Cannot be used. Find another one.
