Professional qualifications in UK relates to professions where you have to study additional courses on top of degree, such as Accountants, Bankers, Personnel Managers, etc. There's a list of acceptable professions but I keep loosing the link... If there are 60 people in your company there are likely to be some qualified people available.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Hello Guys,

Great Forum! Please could the moderators help with a question I have about the AN Application form? Thanks.

I got my ILR 19 months ago and now applying for Naturalisation. I was spouse dependant (5 years) and qualified on the same 5 years route when my spouse got ILR.

I was self employed for all that duration and paid all HMRC taxes due on time and have now got my Statement of Accounts as well from HMRC showing NIL balance. Currently since past 4 months I am studying a few professional Qualifications and no longer in business. Would this be okay as per qualifying criteria? I couldn't find any info on this as to when applying for Naturalisation the applicant should be employed? My spouse's salary covers all maintenance for now. I plan to go back to work after my studies which would be 6 months down the line.

Thanks in advance.
Hello Guys,
Any help/advice please?

Hello Guys,
Any help/advice please?
There is NO requirement to be employed and there is NO maintenance requirement for citizenship either. You simply have to list on the form, where asked, what your employment history is and current job simply state 'student'.

Thank you CR001.
2 more questions, sorry. Help please

1) I have had 3 PCN's issued in my 7 years of driving- Where do I declare this in the application? All by local council and paid within a few days.

2) HMRC sent me the latest Statement of Account. Not the whole 10 year history. This shows credits and debits of tax due and paid for past one year and balance as NIL. Do I need full 10 year history Statement of Account or this would be sufficient? I also received past 3 years SA Tax calculation which I will keep with the application if needed?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Travel history

Post by tamasfeher89 » Sat Nov 18, 2017 3:28 pm

Hello,

I am new to immigration boards and not sure how to start a new thread, hence my response to this one.

I am filling the 'Residence requirements' section of the application form (page 11), but there's not enough space for my travel history for the past 5 years (lots of travel with work) - it advises to continue on page 22, but that won't be enough either.

I wondered what's the best way to ensure that I can record a lot more travel entries? I'm currently thinking about printing 1-2 extra pages with the table from page 11 and include that in my application - I am not sure whether this is accepted though.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Tamas

With that amount of travel, do you meet the absence limit in the last 5 years and more specifically in the last 12 months?

Yes, as most of these are short trips of 3 days, out of which only 1 counts as absence. Also, these are for business purposes and I believe business travel doesn't count.

What I'm planning on doing now is printing another Page 22 of the Form AN, and label them Page 22A and Page 22B where I write down the full travel history. What do you think about this approach?

You are mistaken. For Citizenship ALL absence counts.

Should be fine.

Hi,

I have been in the UK for over 16 years, have Portuguese passport but was born in Brazil. I have had Brazilian passport before but haven't had one for at least 4 years now. I got my settled status in mid-2013.

I have passed the English test and life in the UK and getting ready to apply for my citizenship but I wonder if anyone can clarify a few things:

- Am I right to think that I get to keep my passport if I apply through the nationality checking service?

- Q1.3 - date given indefinite leave to enter/remain - is that when I got my settled status?

- Absences from the UK - if i am applying on say 12/12/17, I only need to write down my travel from 12/12/12, correct?

- If a had a trip to Scotland, I don't need to count this as absent, do I?

- Q2.1 - date and place of arrival - I can't recall the exact date, i know it was either June or July of 2001 and I also can't recall the London airport I flew to. Any ideas what's the best thing to do in this case?

- I own my property, is it useful to mention this anywhere as proof that I am fully settled here?

Thanks in advance.

It is absolutely important to mention that you have property here when you have ILR and you are proving that you are settled here!!!!! This is because you are looking to prove that you are committed to living in the UK and ownership of property is a very important aspect of that!
Please remember that people who post here are not immigration solicitors. That goes for me too but I am yet to see a problem with including too much info as opposed to too little.

I gained my British Citizenship from ILR too and I gave detailed info on my property ownership, including a land registry copy. You don't necessarily have to go to that length but the basis you are looking to obtain naturalisation is based on your statement that you are committed to the UK.

When in doubt, type up a cover letter and include whatever you think is relevant on it. I say this time and time again, do not listen to those that tell you to omit information!

Thank you - I did think mentioning this somewhere may be useful hence the question. Just wasn't sure where I should include it.

I'll include a cover letter to mention this - thank you.

I've looked through many of the top FAQs and posts and am still unsure, but I apologize if this question is frequently answered.

I'm filling in form AN and my question is about section 1.50 Employment history during past 10 years. I've been in the UK for longer than 10 years and have had several jobs, all either with a University or a Council. I've listed them with the most accurate dates of employment I have, although I have grouped a series of consecutive temporary contracts at the same location, indicating it was a series of temporary contracts. Is this ok?

My other question is do I need to include evidence of all ten years of employment in the form of payslips or letters? The employer with whom I had the temporary contracts was notoriously bad about providing payslips/P60s. I can request a letter, but if there is an alternative form of documentation I could get elsewhere that would be helpful!

Thank you.

Hello,

I am a Portuguese national applying for British Naturalisation. I'd be grateful if someone could provide clarifications about the following questions:

For 1.1 Please give any reference numbers used in your immigration applications. Is question this asking for the numbers of my registration certificate and PR card, and would these reference numbers start with UKF?

For 1.3 Date your were given indefinite leave to enter/remain in the UK. As a Portuguese national, should I put the date that I acquired PR, or should I leave this blank?

Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you all very much for the responses to my previous questions. I have one other question that I hope you can help with, regarding this section under details of employment:

1.49 Address of tax office or tax office reference.

Does this refer to the employer reference number, with the format 123/AB45678 ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Please advice me regarding the following.
I read that I have to provide documents proving my stay in UK for 5 years (required for EU nationals) It states bank statements and utility bills are not accepted as proof.
I dont have any govt documents except those from JSA when I was unemployed for 3 yrs, and P45/60 for my 2 years employment. What can I provide?
I believe I have to provide only for the last 5 years not 6. So its one year after I became eligible for PR is that correct?
