Hi,

I am an EEA national and am not sure how to fill in some AN Application form (version 09/18) items.

1. Item 1.1

1.1 Give any reference numbers used in your immigration
applications:

Is it OK if I put there only the number with "Our Ref" from the HO letter, which was accompanied by the DCPR? Yes
This number is actually in response to the application, not in application as I understand.

I got DCPR with second application, first application was refused, because they said that not enough evidence was sent or something like that.

Is it not neccessary to put there reference number of the first refused application response letter,
if I put there reference number from the letter, which was accompanied by the DCPR as response to second application (they are asking any not all)? Don't think this is necessary to quote as is connected to your PR application which was eventually approved, per above.

2. Item 1.3

1.3 Date you were given indefinite leave to enter/remain in the
UK (not necessary if you are a Commonwealth citizen with right of
abode in the United Kingdom). If you are an EEA national, an Irish
or Swiss national or a family member of an EEA national, an Irish or
Swiss national, you should read pages 10 to 11 of the Booklet AN:

Pages 10 and 11 of the booklet AN (version November 2018) are about Knowledge of language and life in the UK - so can't find answer from there.

What date should I put here or leave it empty if EEA national?

Should I maybe put there one of the following dates?
I arrived to UK with intention to live on 20/05/2010. Yes this one only
DCPR issue date is 29/08/2017.
HO letter, which was sent with DCPR, states that date when I acquired permanent residence status is 05/04/2016.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I completing my Naturalisation form and I have a few headscratchers...

- date of first arrival - I can't remember when this was. My dad filled my ILR forms (about 18 years ago) and he doesn't remember what he wrote and we can't find that passport - would it be a good idea to go with the oldest date I have documentation for?

- Also, the P60 requirement - I'm a PAYE freelancer (just noticed I worked for 6 companies in one year!) - so I don't have all my P60s for the past ten years - is there a way to get this from HMRC without having to contact every employer? I have 5 out of 10.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone

I have a question about how to qualify some of my absences (that are all within 12 months and 5 years limits) on the form. I am a EU citizen applying for citizenship (having been resident in UK since more than 6 years).

I am in a long distance relationship with someone from and living in Portugal, visiting on short trips once or twice a month, and I'm not sure how to qualify those visits on the form, is "holiday" ok?
I assume it doesn't fall into the definition of visiting a relative. Should I be more specific such as visiting partner or is that uncesessary/ problematic? I want to avoid raising suspicion about intent to stay (I don't plan to leave UK though) but I don't want to make anything that could be considered a false declaration too. But maybe I'm worrying too much? Let me know if you have any thoughts, thanks!

I'm not sure about the first question but about the P60s I'm pretty sure you cannot get these from HMRC. Maybe using P45s if you have them and some payslips is an alternative? ( I did this for my Permanent residence when I had no P60 because I was not employed PAYE at the end of the tax year, not sure if necessary for naturalisation). But don't you need P60s or letters of employment only for the last 5 years (or whichever is relevant period for you)?

From form an-12-18:

SECTION 10 Evidence of National Insurance contributions covering the relevant period:
• payslips
• P60’s
• letter or letters from your employer or employers confirming you have worked in their
employment including start and finish dates

Great thanks for the advice. Yes I have a DCPR since more than a year so should be good on that side.

Hi everyone

I am applying for BC through the Online application,

on Nationality details section, I have entered that I do not have my national passport and it is with Home Office as I have sent it for the previous application, however, in Document section asked me to submit my passport in mandatory section.

has anyone faced this problem? has anyone know if I need to tick this box and not submit it?

Appreciate your replies
Thanks

Hello to all the moderators!

I need clarification about an issue when filling the form.

There is a question about previous immigration applications inside and outside the UK. my question is whether it is mandatory to fill in information about all the applications related to immigration or it is enough to fill information about the main application which started the process towards eventual naturalisation?

Thank you for your support.

Morning all,

Hoping someone can give me some advice before doing the online application.

We are looking to apply for naturalization after 5 years Ancestry and 3 years ILR (myself, wife and daugther)

* Can we apply and pay for all three people at the same time using the new online application form?
* I cant find appointment costs for new centres anywhere. Are there any appointment fees? I know biometrics are around £20 per person
* For the referees section. Can we get referees to complete the referee section in the offline form before we do the online application so we have the referee papers signed when going for the appointment?
* Section 10 in the list of required documents asks for employment letter / P60s etc. My wife is a housewife. Do we just say "Housewife" and leave the rest blank?

Thanks in advance

Hello all,

I am currently in the process of filling out my application online and I have a few questions that I need help with.

Firstly, I am reapplying as my previous application was refused due to the Good Character rule (I had periods where I was illegal between 2002 and 2008, prior to claiming asylum). My 10 year qualifying period is up on 15/01/2019, as per HO's advice.

1. I had a CCJ on my credit file for non-payment of a parking fine up until 19/12/2018. I did not settle the debt with the creditor but the CCJ fell of my file as it had been 6 years. I double checked this with TrustOnline and there is no record of it on my credit file. Do I still declare this on my application?

2. I am due to start a university course in another town in April, 2019. I would like to make the application for naturalisation before April to avoid the usual fee hike in April. Seeing as that the application processing times vary, is it advisable to use my sister's address as the correspondence address? The reason being, I have not yet secured accommodation in the new town and chances are that I will move before a decision is made on my application.

3. Following up on question 2, is it better to just use my current address and then use the Royal Mail Redirection service?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Reesy04

Side note to our moderators: it would be helpful to have a thread for previously refused applicants and their journey while reapplying. My apologies if one already exits and I may have missed it when I checked through the forum.

Hello all,

I am planning to apply for naturalisation using the new online application (submitting documents through new ukvcas).

Can any one help me with the required documents: in particular, do i need to the two referee letters with photographs as in previous paper format?

Thanks

Yes you still need referees. Nothing in the requirements and laws have changed. It is only the way you apply and submit that has changed.

The AN guidance notes and online form tell you what to submit as do many topics on the forum!!

Hi Gurus,

Just a quick question.

As we are filling the naturalisation form (previous paper AN) form Online now and then sending documents through UKVCAS.

My question is around referees

In the form AN (section 5 is for referees), there are 3 pages (pages 19-21) for referees section; for 2 referees.

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... -12-18.pdf

Do I need to print these 3 pages for referees section and then get the referees sign it and then take it to UKVCAS?

Or

Is there a separate Referees form available as part of online application now, which I need to print and get the referees sign it and take it to UKVCAS along other documents?

Please advise regarding the new process for Referees form i.e. where to download this and where to send or submit?

Many thanks in advance

The online application process will tell you when you can print out the forms for referees to sign. You need to input their personal data into the online form first (the data required is the same as the paper AN form).

Hello everybody,

I am an EEA national (Poland) I have 3 question.

1. Do I have to put anything in the 'Reference numbers used in your immigration applications' (1.1 of the form)?

2. What document should I use for the 'current passport/travel document number' (1.2 of the form)? Can I use my ID Card ?

3. Do I need to put anything In 1.3 ?

1.3 Date you were given indefinite leave to enter/remain, including
indefinite leave to remain granted under the EU Settlement
Scheme (referred to as “settled status”), and where you wish to
use this to support your application. (This is not necessary if you
are a Commonwealth citizen with right of abode in the United
Kingdom). If you are an EEA national, a Swiss national or a family
member of an EEA national or Swiss national, and you wish to use
a permanent residence document to support your application you
should read page 9 of the Booklet AN and complete section 2.4. If
you are an Irish national you do not need to complete this section.

I'm In England 8 Years
I got my Permanent Resident Card from November 2017

Thank you for your help

Hi guys,

I am hoping to find an answer to a few questions. I've searched this forum for a number of days now but still am unclear on the following:

1.1 Give any reference numbers used in your immigration applications: -I am unsure what to put here. I am a EU citizen with ILR since 2003 and other than the Home Office letter and the vignette in my old passport I haven't got any other documents from which I can take the ref. number. Would the reference from the Home Office letter (in format: Our Ref A******* ) be sufficient or the number of the vignette (format *******A) ?

1.47 Employee/A business partner/self-employed/director: I am not sure what to tick here- I am a Director but obviously also an employee in the business so can I tick both or just go for Director?

1.49 Tax Reference Number: Which number is this? My personal UTR or the business' UTR (Unique Tax Reference Number) or the business' PAYE Number?

And finally I plan to fill in the form by hand and send all my documents in the post. Has anyone done this recently?

Any help much appreciated guys -I find the whole AN application could have been clearer in certain parts.

many thanks for any help!

The application is online now. The paper forms have been withdrawn.

1.1 leave blank or put in the number on your ILR vignette or the ref in any letter you have. Either is fine.

1.47 Yes, you can tick both if the online form allows it.

6.13 Date Biometric fingerprints were taken- we cant remember this either how can we find this information The date you applied for ILR and submitted your biometrics. Month/year is fine.

Does anybody know how to answer correct on question:
Do you have any dependents not applying with you at this time?
I have 2 kids who are born in UK and are British citizens from birth. So they not need to apply at all. But they are dependents. So how to answer "YES" or "NO"??
I am a bit confused with this question. Regards
