Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

Hi,

I am an EEA national and am not sure how to fill in some AN Application form (version 09/18) items.

1. Item 1.1

1.1 Give any reference numbers used in your immigration
applications:

Is it OK if I put there only the number with "Our Ref" from the HO letter, which was accompanied by the DCPR? Yes
This number is actually in response to the application, not in application as I understand.

I got DCPR with second application, first application was refused, because they said that not enough evidence was sent or something like that.

Is it not neccessary to put there reference number of the first refused application response letter,
if I put there reference number from the letter, which was accompanied by the DCPR as response to second application (they are asking any not all)? Don't think this is necessary to quote as is connected to your PR application which was eventually approved, per above.

2. Item 1.3

1.3 Date you were given indefinite leave to enter/remain in the
UK (not necessary if you are a Commonwealth citizen with right of
abode in the United Kingdom). If you are an EEA national, an Irish
or Swiss national or a family member of an EEA national, an Irish or
Swiss national, you should read pages 10 to 11 of the Booklet AN:

Pages 10 and 11 of the booklet AN (version November 2018) are about Knowledge of language and life in the UK - so can't find answer from there.

What date should I put here or leave it empty if EEA national?

Should I maybe put there one of the following dates?
I arrived to UK with intention to live on 20/05/2010. Yes this one only
DCPR issue date is 29/08/2017.
HO letter, which was sent with DCPR, states that date when I acquired permanent residence status is 05/04/2016.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a question about how to qualify some of my absences (that are all within 12 months and 5 years limits) on the form. I am a EU citizen applying for citizenship (having been resident in UK since more than 6 years).

I am in a long distance relationship with someone from and living in Portugal, visiting on short trips once or twice a month, and I'm not sure how to qualify those visits on the form, is "holiday" ok?
I assume it doesn't fall into the definition of visiting a relative. Should I be more specific such as visiting partner or is that uncesessary/ problematic? I want to avoid raising suspicion about intent to stay (I don't plan to leave UK though) but I don't want to make anything that could be considered a false declaration too. But maybe I'm worrying too much? Let me know if you have any thoughts, thanks!

Hi All,

I completing my Naturalisation form and I have a few headscratchers...

- date of first arrival - I can't remember when this was. My dad filled my ILR forms (about 18 years ago) and he doesn't remember what he wrote and we can't find that passport - would it be a good idea to go with the oldest date I have documentation for?

- Also,the P60 requirement - I'm a PAYE freelancer (just noticed I worked for 6 companies in one year!) - so I don't have all my P60s for the past ten years - is there a way to get this from HMRC without having to contact every employer? I have 5 out of 10.

Stating holiday is fine.

Do you hold a document Certifying PR??

Hi guys,

I am hoping to find an answer to a few questions. I've searched this forum for a number of days now but still am unclear on the following:

1.1 Give any reference numbers used in your immigration applications: -I am unsure what to put here. I am a EU citizen with ILR since 2003 and other than the Home Office letter and the vignette in my old passport I haven't got any other documents from which I can take the ref. number. Would the reference from the Home Office letter (in format: Our Ref A******* ) be sufficient or the number of the vignette (format *******A) ?


1.47 Employee/A business partner/self-employed/director: I am not sure what to tick here- I am a Director but obviously also an employee in the business so can I tick both or just go for Director?

1.49 Tax Reference Number: Which number is this? My personal UTR or the business' UTR (Unique Tax Reference Number) or the business' PAYE Number?

And finally I plan to fill in the form by hand and send all my documents in the post. Has anyone done this recently?

Any help much appreciated guys -I find the whole AN application could have been clearer in certain parts.

section 1.22 The life in the UK test number- we cant remember it how can we find this information You should have received the LIUK test pass letter back when you applied for ILR. Did you not even keep a copy??

6.13 Date Biometric fingerprints were taken- we cant remember this either how can we find this information The date you applied for ILR and submitted your biometrics. Month/year is fine.

6.14 Where the fingerprints were taken including town and country-we cant remember this either how can we find this information Presumably you either posted your ILR application and submitted biometrics at the Post Office or your apply at PSC and submitted biometrics as part of your application for ILR on the day.

please someone help me how I can find this information for 3 sections
