you just need to upload your passport and EU Settlement letter although they will be able to view your status with the reference code you need to fill in the application.on_the_contrary wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 9:32 pmHi, I have been reading this forum for a while, it's super useful!
I'm applying for naturalization with the ILR under the EU Settlement scheme. However, my documents checklist says:
proof of Nationality. You must include your:
- passport or EEA national identity card
- UK permanent residence card
- evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions
You must have a permanent residence card before you can apply for citizenship
this seems confusing, as I don't have a permanent residence card. Any ideas if it's ok to include the ILR reference number instead? Or am I filling a wrong form?
Employment is not a requirement for naturalisation, just declare periods of unemployment as applicable - you don't have to justify that.curious_man wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 11:35 amHi Everyone,
I'm planning to submit my Citizenship application in mid July. However due to Corona, my employment is sadly coming to an end on the 30th of June. I've been in the country for 12 years, studying and full time employment of 6 years, so I have fulfilled the qualifying period required. However if I have a two week or so unemployment stint before I submit my application could that be a problem? If so does anyone have suggestions how to overcome it?
Also, I don't know exact date I arrived 12 years ago, I only know the month. I might be able to dig deeper if I have to but is it important to know it down to the date?
Thanks,
Curious man
A question that comes up regularly ....
Doesn't this contradict the capacity which you're in the UK as (worker, self-sufficient, student, etc.)? Or for short period of times, it is considered to be okay?alterhase58 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 12:06 pm

Where dates are asked for and you don't have it precisely use the nearest estimate - month/year is ok.
Being in employment at present or in the past is not a mandatory requirement for citizenship.mike20 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 8:28 pmDoesn't this contradict the capacity which you're in the UK as (worker, self-sufficient, student, etc.)? i am really confuse about one section in the application form..regarding previous immigration history..
Have you previously made any other UK immigration application in the UK or abroad? - Yes
Name in which you made the application - ?????
are they asking for name of the applicant or type of the application made previously..(tier-1 ,tier-2 ,tier 4 etc)
thanks
Ah I see. Just to understand this though, for EEA nationals who do not obtain visas, what does it mean? Can they still declare that they are in the UK as workers?CR001 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 8:37 pmBeing in employment at present or in the past is not a mandatory requirement for citizenship.mike20 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 8:28 pmDoesn't this contradict the capacity which you're in the UK as (worker, self-sufficient, student, etc.)? Many who applied have been on dependent visas and never worked in the UK and had success.
There are additional evidence requirements for EU citizens and family when applying for citizenship, depending on their circumstances, to prove residence for the whole 5 years.mike20 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:10 pmAh I see. You can ignore this - it says "if applicant ... " so not applicable to you as you don't fall into those categories.Nikamo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 11:26 amHi Everyone,
I have my appointment for Biometrics tomorrow and had purchased the document checking service for what I had uploaded.
It was all fine except for they said in the mandatory section below was missing
If applicant spent the 3 or 5 year qualifying residence period in UK as a student or as a self-sufficient person, and had comprehensive sickness insurance (CSI), a copy of their sickness insurance policy is required to be uploaded to 'Other' category.
I have never been in the UK as student or self-sufficient person. Why would this be mandatory for me? Is there anything I have completed wrong in the online form? Or is this just something I can ignore?
Thanks again for your help!
Thank you. I thought/was hoping this was the case!alterhase58 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 11:31 amYou can ignore this - it says "if applicant ... " so not applicable to you as you don't fall into those categories.Nikamo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 11:26 amHi Everyone,

You only need need one professional referee. Your professional referee doesn't have to British. Your British citizen referee doesn't have to be employed or have a profession.
Read the list again. It clearly states director of a company.applier24 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 5:07 pmThanks CR001...
What I'm trying to ask really is, from the whole list of people they have, they don't say about anyone being owner of entrepreneur, just things like solicitor etc, so can I use someone who runs a business? The person is the owner and director of this company. Would that work?
Can the moderators please help? Two current jobs and the online form only got one current job section and the other is with an End date.flashq wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 8:10 amI need clarification regarding the question below if possible:
Have you had any other work over the past 10 years or since you came to the UK?
I am working as an employee in a company and in the same time I am still a director of another company, I know I have to put them both but the online form additional work section comes with only start and END date which I don't have as I am still currently a director.
Can the moderators please help?
Thank you in advance.
