I totally understand what you are saying!
They are sneaky and if my NCS sent it by special delivery then they should have received it on the 3rd April!
Oh well, it looks to be easier to send the money and have done!!
Here's to waiting that little bit longer!!!

Hey, who knows, you could be getting that coveted 'brown envelope' before all of us...

All, i can say is that NCS get their wages from the same government as UKVI and you know the adage, "one hand washes the other"....or perhaps I am too cynical or paranoid of government departments trying to rip people off even when its avoidable but thats just me...

Good luck!

Nice to see our page getting a little busier. As others have mentioned above I am just as awful at waiting and I live in hope that our application will be the exception to the norm and race through the system in record time. I have been following the threads for Jan, Feb And March to see what their timelines are looking like and there are many applications that have been turned around in approximately 6 weeks which means that all of us who rushed to get our forms in by the 4th April are half way through our wait. Holding thumbs that May is our month of successes. It is Friday and it is payday :D have a fab weekend everyone.

they said caseworkers are given a target of completing 10 cases a day and what they do is go through the files and select the more complicated cases and give priority to them. the straight forward cases are then put aside to wait or given to junior members of the team to complete. after they complete these straight forward cases, they then have to be quality checked before approval letter is written. All of these factors attribute to why some people get approvals before others even though you may have applied before or on the same day as them.

"Each caseworker was required to make 10 decisions a day, which was the foundation of the overall decision making target.
For example, we found that caseworkers reviewed their entire allocation of files, established which ones needed additional information (and were therefore likely to take longer) and prioritised those first. This meant that information could be obtained without adding unnecessary delay to the decision making process".

I added it cause a lot of people been wondering how the decision process works and why people that apply after them or the same date get their results before them. It was taken from an official report done on the quality standards of the nationality team in liverpool. The document is online.

Just thought I would add it to give people a peek into how they process the applications.

I applied in the last weekend of March but due to the payment issues I though this was more appropriate in the April timeline.

Eligibility criteria: 5 years Ancestry + 1 year ILR
Nationality: South African
Language criteria met: Life in the UK test + IELTS
Method of application: NCS Wandsworth
Date of application: 29/03/2014
Payment method: Debit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 31/03/2014
Date of acknowledgement: 07/04/2014 (received 14/07/2014) requesting new payment details
New payment details received by UKBA: 16/04/2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 25/04/2014
Date approval received: TBC
Date of ceremony: TBC

Obviously had Easter in amongst this, which would have delayed things a bit.
