Essentially, as a couple of people have suggested, straightforward cases and those of BC spouse and 5 year (T1) route applicants tend to receive faster decisions. This is possibly because they tend to do more checks/due diligence on the other routes.

This by no means suggests that you will not be approved or your application has been overlooked, just that they may be undertaking further checks and you should hear back soon, hopefully well before the 6 months are up.

I hope this is useful. You guys have been amazing in helping me keep my spirits up whilst waiting and I hope you get your desired response soon. All the best.
i am 5 years tier 1 and 2 years ILR applied end of April and not approved yet, im as straight forward an applicant as you can get. I just cant believe how many May and even June applicants are getting approved, i dont see where the fairness is in this ;ahead of april and even March. did you lawyer have any insight into this disparity?

No, not yet.

My partner applied one week after me and has already been approved but I am still waiting.

I agree, even my application is as straight forward as you can get.

Everything we hear from other people is pure speculation, there is no logic to how HO handles cases and if there is logic I don't see it.

Why don't you call them and explain the situation about your wedding or maybe involve your MP. I know it hasn't been 6 months but may be worth a try.

Did anyone notice the approval date is not not dependent upon date of applying but is rather dependent on date of biometric letter issued. As this week is going by applicant who received biometric letter in 3rd week of June are getting approval (same in both cases of May and June applicants)

Actually I would suggest don't call HO, go straight to your MP as he/she may be more sympathetic to your problem than some random call center operator.

You should be able to find contact details for your MP on his site, just write/call em and see what they say.

If you decide to call instead of emailing, gather all your thoughts and write them down if you have to so you can explain clearly your problem and have all the facts at hand if they ask.

Not really, it does appear that spouse of BC applications are being handled a lot quicker. He mentioned this even at the time of applying, that as spouse of a BC I could expect a decision quicker than most in around 3 months and he wasn't far off.

Is anyone who is spouse of a BC still awaiting a decision?

Separately, on the decisions being based on biometrics date, I submitted mine on 19th June if that helps at all.

Yeah I just wondered if there were any BC apps pending from April or if all were complete - mostly to corroborate what I got from the solicitor. The 10 year route apps do appear to be taking the longest based on a quick look in the March forum.

Hi amritsar, iv read your comments on here previously and it seems yours is not a straight forward case. At various times you have mentioned that you had convictions (possibly motoring?) and also that your address was different to the one on your drivers license. This may have lead them to carrying out further checks, which they do advise of on your acknowledgement letter.

Hang in there, just because it hasn't come yet doesn't mean it is on hold, they are probably just carrying out these further checks.

You can find this info from April spreadsheet. I can see there are few still pending.

Yes. I am a spouse of UK born British Citizen, applied on 15th April (exactly 5months today) based on 3yrs route.

My biometrics was submitted on 14th May (4months)

Mine is straightforward case and not sure what is going on in my case considering spouse of BC applications are getting processed quicker.

I think we are in advance country here home office do not need to send letter to other departments to check applicant history everything on them computer. ...I had conviction more then 4 year ago I mentioned in application also about address I rang to home office two weeks ago and that lady told me you don't need to us about this .I came here as a spouse never change my visa status always been working paying 600 pound tax never got tax clam never got benifit always pay for everything .....never involved in any kind off violence so what kind further check we are so many waiting from so long we pay everything same but decision time for us further check if they can't check in this five month what else check in this last 3 weeks ...

Posters asking whether spouses of BC's are being fast tracked through. Certainly isn't happening in my case. Married 11 years to a BC, originally from a UK speaking country, and employed continuously since arriving here. No convictions.

I noticed that others applying at the same time, fee were taken roughly the same time, but received acknowledgements approx 7 days before me, biometrics letters 10-14 days before me. Then received approval weeks ago. I must have a very slow case-worker.

Hopefully you will hear something soon.
The referees you used, were they both british citizens?

I sometimes wonder if checking the professional referees who arent british, takes longer for checks to come back!
