I have been a silent reader of this site for a long while. Many thanks to everyone for posting. Here is my timeline:

Eligibility criteria: 1 year cohabiting prior to 4 years of marriage to a dual EEA/British citizen, no PR, EEA2 for 4 years
Method of application: Postal
Date of application: 7 August 2013
Date of receipt by HO: 8 August 2013
Date of debit of fees: 13 August 2013
Acknowledgement letter received : 16 August 2013 (dated 13 August)
Date of approval: 9 September 2013
Date of receipt of approval: 11 September 2013 (in enclosed Special Delivery envelope)

The approval letter says that: "I am pleased to say that your application has been successful and you will shortly receive a certificate of naturalisation as a British citizen". No reference to ceremony, invitation letter or contacting council!??!. Is it a bit strange? Has anyone received a letter wording like this? Should I just sit around waiting? Many thanks.

Tat is indeed strange... saw another post tat said similar wording ... best to wait a couple of weeks and then call your council to check, if not call home office direct ...

Apart from the eligibility criteria, all the others are same. I applied on 12th, debited on 15th, still waiting.

Well, that is indeed a bit odd. Well,I would give a phone call to the HO. Maybe it is something new, we never know, they are changing things all the time. Please, keep us informed.

If you used NCS on Thursday 1 August - why was it not received by UKBA the next day on Friday 2 August?? It was only delivered the following Monday??

Not seen anyone else commenting about receiving a letter like this before. Let us know what happens but I assume we will all have to attend the citizenship ceremony (where they then present the certificate). Good luck! :)

The letter I received gave the council information and said to contact them within 21 days to book a place at the ceremony.

Blondie - Oh, cool! There are a couple others that share dates similar to ours too. Let's hope we are not too far away now!
