Hi there, My application date is 11 April and i am unable to book biometric appointment on UKVCAS website, has anyone submitted application in the month of April managed to book Biometric appointment?
Secondly is it advisable to uploading documents on UKVCAS without having appointment? As per my solicitor they will book the appointment when my appointment is booked and before attending the appointment.
Hi,
blueskies89 on 29thJune (see post above) said s(he) applied 5th April and still couln't book the Biometrics appointment.
oxana777 and myself both applied on 15th April and are in that same situation today.
The notifications of the UKVCAS page explains that all of us who have registered on UKVCAS but could not book a biometrics appointment because of covid will be contacted by email with instructions on how to book an appointment (so we should not use the standard online booking system which currently has no available slots). However these emails will be sent out in order of application date, so my guess is that at the moment they haven't gone further than the early April applications.

Your second question is of interest to me as well, because I would need to upload documents to amend my home address (I am moving home tomorrow) and that of one of my referees...CR001 (moderator) suggested above that I can upload new documents at any time after my application (15th April) either before or after booking the biometrics appointment....However I can't for the life of me find a way to upload more documents onto UKVCAS in my current situation (i.e. no biometrics appointment booked yet). As your solicitor advised, the only way would possibly be to submit a new application, which is not my favorite option as that would bump me down in the waiting list. So I'll wait until I can book a biometrics appointment (looking forward to that email...) and then see if I can upload supporting documents at that stage.
Out of interest, why can’t you upload documents? I still have that option when i login, can upload as much as i want. Maybe you are looking in the wrong place? Or maybe im on the wrong website :D :D :D
Really ?... could you give me the link of the page you use to log in please? I wouldn't be surprised if I were looking in the wrong place.

Thank you ! :)
Sure, this is the link https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/home-internal then i login and then i click on the menu - upload documents and it lets me upload

Thank you oxana777.
It is the same login page I use.
I have to be honest: I have always used this page only to check if I could book a biometrics appointment :D
Now that I read the whole page, it does explain that I will be able to upload any supporting document only after booking a biometrics appointment and receiving a confirmation email.... So I still don't understand how you can upload documents before having booked the appointment but I will just have to wait I guess.
Thank you !

Are you sure you dont have a section called “document upload”. It should be in the left hand corner, you click “menu” and then there is a drop down and there you can see “document upload”? I can see it when i login now from phone. I cant attach a screenshot here but i know that some other people didnt see this section until they looked a bit more careful :D

It doesnt matter what it says. There is an option to upload documents and everyone uploads them before they book an appointment. Try it. It will work :)

I applied just stating May. They said to me today can take a couple of weeks. That’s realistic I guess and no need to hold my breath.

I uploaded everything and actually a lot.

You can upload documents on the UKVCAS website irrespective of having a biometric appointment or not. Once you pay and submit via UKVI and press “book an appointment” through “further actions page”, you are sent a code in your email to register with UKVCAS. Usually this email lands up in the Junk folder. So check your junk folder incase you have not received that in your inbox. If not, there is some technical error with your account and you need to contact UKVCAS.

That’s good news.

“ If you’ve given your fingerprints before
If UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) can reuse the fingerprints you’ve already given, you’ll be emailed with instructions on how to send them an image of your face and your supporting documents.

This will mean you do not have to attend a UKVCAS or an SSC service point appointment to provide biometric information.

If you cannot send the information through the instructions given, you’ll be able to book an appointment.”

Hi,
Today I received an e-mail to book an appointment - my application date was 3rd of April.

I was able to book a free appointment on 10th of July - everything before was chargeable (£220).

Good luck everyone and stay patient!

Update on UKVCAS site:

“ Updated: 02 July 2020

We are opening the appointment booking system to even more customers. We have news about a new UKVI policy which may accelerate the application process.

Taking a phased approach in date order

We are now opening up the booking system in date order to customers who registered with UKVCAS after the 27th March and on and before 30 April 2020. We are continuing to work from the earliest to the most recent registrations as we think this is the fairest and best approach to take.

If you are one of these customers, you will receive an email from us before 4 July 2020 asking you to book an appointment. The email will have full instructions about next actions.

Certain customers within this date range will not be invited to book an appointment. See the impact of the new UKVI policy changes below.

Accelerating the application process

UK Visas and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) is working closely with UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) to tackle the significant demand for appointments in order to accelerate the application process.

UKVI is changing the way it processes applications in response to COVID-19 (see here). This new way of working involves reusing biometrics (fingerprints) that have been recorded in a previous application as part of the process to verify your identity. This will mean that certain customers will not need to attend a Service Point.

UKVI are currently working to identify those customers that are eligible to use this new approach.

If you are likely to be eligible for this new process, UKVI has asked us not to invite you for an appointment but to wait for an email which will give you further information and next steps.

We are continuing to invite customers by email that will definitely need to book an appointment at a Service Point. See ‘Taking a phased approach in date order’ above.

Further details will be available over the next few weeks. If you have any questions, please check the website for the latest news.

Opening more Service Points

Check here for locations and planned opening dates.”

Haha!! Is it cardiff central or cardiff bay? I went to cardiff central last year. £220 is crazy money, its not nice of them to put the price up like that

Hi guys

Does today's announcement mean that someone like me who has applied for naturalization through Tier 2 + ILR route should not expect to attend biometric appointment. I say this because I have given them my fingerprints 3 times over the last 5 years (most recently 13 months ago)...

Oxana and Pazol, may I ask which route did you apply from?

Thanks!

Yea i did biometrics last year for ILR but my problem is that last time they couldnt take my fingerprints for some reason, it just didnt work! So they made me sign some letter saying they cant take fingerprints... hence i am sure i will have to go to biometrics but worried i didnt get an email. Before that i had biometrics done like 3-4 years ago for tier 2, at the post office so i doubt it will count Did you receive any email about that new process for those who don’t need to attend biometrics?

Thanks!
