Otuel, you and your family are in the same pile as my family. I applied and submitted all documents in March, did IDV in 5th Sept. Call HO and email nationality enquires on the 23rd Sept. I only got the generic reply and a bunch of excuses. I hope i get some updates in the coming days. Its not acceptable to keep us in the dark
Ritchie12, I will let you know once I am being updated.

Good luck!
Finally, we have been approved today by e-mail. The date of the approval is 22nd of July therefore I would expect an invitation letter by the end of October.

Thank you and good luck everyone.

otuel
Wooow... Congrats Otuel. Im glad for you. Hopefully ours will come in soon. How is the date of approval 22nd July? Does it mean HO have a stuck of decisions on BC applications and are struggling to send them out? That would seem very weird and strange, isn't it?
Thank you Ritchie12.

As CULLINAN said, it must be a technical issue or a human error.

I was waiting 6 months until I contacted HO (via phone and e-mail) for an update. Then I was told that it can take up to 10 working days to reply. After that, they replied and confirmed my successful application in 5 working days.

Good luck!

Hi Everyone,
Hi Cullinan😊
Glad to be here.
I just got ILR 2/10/20
BRP arrived 8/10/20
Applied for Naturalisation 9/10/20 (Based on British spouse)
Documents uploaded and submitted 10/10/20
In person Biometrics booked for 5/11/20 (seem ridiculous as I recently did one on the 15/09/20 for ILR that wasn't even used)

Let the wait begin......🤞
Welcome to the club!! Section 6(2) are usually faster.. hopefully you will hear soon!! Good luck. 😎

Were there no appointments before 5/11 or you went for a free appointment??
I didn't see any free appointments when I checked. It was one of the 62.99 appt on Lansdowne road. I actually wanted an appt in November because I have sent my passport and ILR to student finance for approval. I hope to receive them back by then....

Hi,

this might seem like a silly question but I'd rather be precautious. I just went for my appointment today to give my biometrics including fingerprints, but I had a cut on my thumb which my officer didn't ask about. Were they meant to acknowledge any scars/cuts and will this influence anything? the cut is pretty deep from a cooking accident and does take some skin off of my thumb.

thanks

8/10 fingers match and your okay. The officer should however leave a note IF the fingerprint did not match. But probably it did match even without the scar.

UKVCAS Service Update 12th October:

https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/flash-message- ... geId=56249
Take note of local, regional and national Covid-19 regulations BEFORE you book an appointment.
Before you book an appointment, please ensure that you are following local COVID-19 regulations. These vary from one area to another so do check that it is safe and legal for you to travel to a UKVCAS service point, particularly if it is outside your locality.

UKVCAS is considered an essential service by the UK government and our staff are seen as key workers.

The Home Office published a separate report on 28 May 2020, which provided a statistical overview of COVID-19 impacts on the immigration system through to the end of April 2020. However, there are further changes visible in the period to the end of June 2020.

There were 21,990 applications for British citizenship in the second quarter of 2020, 43% lower than in the second quarter of 2019 (38,903). In the same time period there were 16,285 grants of citizenship, 57% lower than a year earlier (39,900). The reduction in grants was due to the need to create capacity for expanded home working, for example providing equipment to case working staff and setting up a remote working model.

In January and February 2020, there were more grants of British citizenship than the in the same months in 2019. In March 2020, there were around a sixth fewer grants (-16%) than in 2019. Grants fell significantly to 2,291 in April 2020, 81% lower than in April 2019. The number of grants started to recover again in the following months, grants in May were 55% lower than 2019 and in June were 37% lower.

I submitted my biometrics and paperwork on Saturday but when I log into the site it shows everything I have uploaded but nothing says submitted.

Is there any confirmation or will it stay like this?

No confirmation is sent after biometrics appointment but if you open each category individually, in front of the file names, each file will say submitted. Best not to play with your account now.

Quick update, I applied on 21 Sep and got invition for IDV on 23 Sep and submitted on 25 Sep 2020. I keep checking for free biometric appointment in the meantimeI have emailed HO whether I need to book biometric appointment and I received email from them that they have got my biometric details and my application is in que and I dont have to do anything now. So whoever submitted through IDV, I dont think they have to book for biometric appoinment.

I already said, no harm, but you only submitted your application very recently, dual submission will most likely not benefit you but you can always attend if you wish.

It’s been more than a month that I submitted my biometric via IDV app(sep 8, 2020) . Not sure how long do have to wait till they make decisions and I’ll receive my BRP cards.
It’s just taking so much longer than usual

I applied for naturalisation a month ago and submitted biometrics through the app. I then booked a free appointment to attend to one of the centres, but I wasn’t feeling well on the day I had the appointment so I cancelled it. I’m not planning to book a new appointment now as Home Office already have everything they need through the app.
Can someone please advise if this will create any issue for my application.

Thanks 🙏

No. If you open your IDV app, it would say your application is submitted. The sopra FAQs confirm this also.

SO just co confirm with you guys I can upload my documents until the deadline when I have to give my details on 10 of November right? There is no slowdown or faster admission if I click to upload them today?
Also ...can I submit biometrics through an app instead of waiting to go to this center?

If your documents are complete, the best approach is to self-submit. The documents will directly go to UKVI and maybe you will save some time as some kind of casework may start even before your biometrics but its optional
Also ...can I submit biometrics through an app instead of waiting to go to this center?
No
