Has anyone been lucky to get an update to book biometric after opting out for IDV after yesterday’s deadline?

Yes, so did I but I think with the delays they have maybe adopted a new procedure. Like I said - this has been my experience personally, so I can say for certain

Also note, many members have posted to receive decisions within 3-10 days after providing biometrics (those who were chosen to ATTEND biometrics appointment.)
That probably hints that cases are being processed even without biometrics.

I hope so. In normal circumstances, you can get the fee refunded if you have not already given your biometric information. So it may be a waste of effort for HO if they start processing the application and the applicant withdraws before the biometrics.

That was my thought also. I believe, the whole OPT IN scenario is like a consent for HO to go ahead.

I have applied for my Naturalisation in July and well I am in in the pool for the IDV app as my biometric can be reused. My question is about submission of documents as I have already uploaded my documents on the UKVCAS website but not submitted. Should I continue with submitting the documents or wait till I know more about the app and then upload more recent documents ( for e.g bank statement, payslips, etc)

Well you can opt in and later realise you can't use the app for some reason then UKVCAS have to give you option to book an appointment

If you upload documents to the UKVCAS website, you can submit them to UKVI before completing your biometric or identity verification check. Don’t worry. You only need to upload each document once. This can be via the website, at a Service Point, or through the UKVCAS Identify Verification app.

The best approach is to submit your documents via UKVCAS portal for now. You will be able to add more via IDV app later on if needed.

PS the date of application is the date you paid and submitted. Biometrics date is irrelevant. You do NOT need any updated documents on new dates.

I think we will never know the reasoning behind why the re-use policy is implemented the way it is.

Nope, every morning I wake up hoping for good news. I can't wait for this to end. The torture is too much

Indeed frustrating as they are not proceeding With anything. Has someone tried calling the ukvcas helpline? I can’t reach after waiting 1 hour.

Guys relax, no need to stress yourself unnecessarily. There is a huge backlog in receiving ceremony invitations and attending the ceremony itself. No point getting frustrated at this stage (approval). After approvals we still will be stuck. IDV app will not be a magic wand to eliminate backlogs at all stages. Its a long journey, we all are in together. Stay positive.

Agree you are right, but when I see people getting their application approved even though they applied more than month after me kind of frustrates me quite a lot.
These kind of questions I would like to ask directly to UKVI AND UKVCAS but unfortunately they don’t give a damn about it.

Waiting waiting and waiting !!!!!!!!!!!

I am in the same boat. I applied on 6th May and still waiting due to the unfortunate occurrence of becoming eligible for bio-metric reuse.

Keep us posted on your application progress!! I kind of stop hoping anything now from UKVCAS and UKVI. Absolutely joke it is that there is no acknowledgement for their biometric reuse failure.

One of the Twitter comment : All the directors and managers of the UKVI and UKVCAS behind this mess should be investigated and prosecuted for their incompetence. They need to learn a lesson. Otherwise they will carry on torturing people as they see themselves above the law.

For those who are frustrated with this process, you can lodge an official complaint with the Home Office here. Keep in mind that when you're providing additional context later in the portal the site will reset and make you start over if you're idle for 30min.

No idea if these things are actually read or if they just fall into a black hole, but maybe if they get enough complaints they'll look into it. It says that it can take up to 20 days to receive a response so I wouldn't hold your breath.

The deadline has passed as of 7th Aug for June applicants. How did you opt out just NOW?

I know, But it doesn't say the DEADLINE !! It says if You OPT OUT by 7 then you will receive the Email by 10 To book the appointment.
So I just tried lets see what do they say about it ...

I should have opted out last week really ! I thought they will launch the app after 10th, But NO, And still Invitation will be sent to use the app or if you cannot use the app then book the appointment. So thought to try the luck !!

Submitted my documents on 23rd of July on ukvcas
Got decision via email today
Successful application. Just waiting for ceremony to open. Good luck everyone waiting

Please always check your spam folders for emails, don't just delete without checking. I received my citizenship decision over 2 weeks ago through my spam folder.

My friend applied in March 2020 and biometrics 16th June then decision 30th June. He only realized yesterday about the decision after checking his spam folder.

Please always check your spam folders for emails, don't just delete without checking. I received my citizenship decision over 2 weeks ago through my spam folder.
