Bizarre issues with address history

Post by osushkov » Thu Oct 12, 2023 8:43 am

I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on my very strange experience.
Background: I applied for UK citizenship in June and filled in my address
history for the past 5 years in the UK. Some of the address periods had overlapping dates
as I had overlapping tenancies.
On Sept 20th I received an email asking for additional info, asking for "5-year address history prior to 10 Jun 2023, please include full postcodes. Can you please provide this in chronological order and without gaps. This includes any overseas address that might fall within this period."

I was a bit confused as my application had this info, but ok, maybe they had an issue with the
overlapping dates. So I trimmed the dates so there was no overlap. The address history I
emailed them back with had format of:
"Date A - Date B, Address.
Date B - Date C, Address.
Date C - Date D, Address"

Note: Date A began prior to June 2018 and Date D ended after June 2023, so I was providing more history than the specified period, not sure if this is an issue?

Fast forward to today, and I received another request for more info asking for "5-year address history prior to 10 Jun 2023.
Can you please provide this in chronological order and without gaps. This includes any overseas address that might fall within this period."

At this point I'm SUPER confused/concerned. Has anyone experienced this before? What do they want from me and should I just send them the same info again? I've only lived in the UK for the past 5 years, so all the addresses are UK addresses, but I'm not including holiday travel here. Surely they arent looking for the addresses I stayed at while on holiday travel?

Try sending the address without the overlap of days even if you are holding 2 valid tenancies.

No need to include any address abroad visited for holidays or short stays, you didn't reside there.

When they mention "any overseas address" are referring addresses where you lived within your qualifying period for BC.
