Overall not a bad wait considering it was a first adult passport in the middle of summer! They say it can take 6 weeks, mine took exactly 14 days from HMPO receiving my declaration to me receiving my passport. I was very surprised to get an interview the day after receiving the letter - apparently Plymouth was the only office with appointments available that week and some offices had a 3 week waiting list!

Received a text message today We've received your passport application. You should get your new passport within 3 weeks (6 weeks if it's your first passport). We never ask you to send personal or financial information by text.

BTW, this was a standard passport application. I did not request a fast track delivery for passport.

Screwed up big time by misspelling my name. Told the same on the helpline.
Got a call the following week to resend my docs to verify the name once again.
Resent docs by calling them and getting address.

Unnecessart lengthy process due to negligence in verifying name and this costed my planned trip on the planned dates.
