(This took longer because my local council did not update the system after my ceremony which meant home office could not verify my application, I had to call every day before they escalated the situation and called the council to confirm and approve the application

I called the HMPO advice line (they are a waste of time) several times but all they kept telling me was it is still being processed and the standard waiting time is 6 weeks. I then contacted HMPO on their HMPO twitter feed. They were very helpful and provided all the info below by contacting HMPO Glasgow on my behalf.
My application took so long because UKVI put the “wrong code” on my Naturalisation Certificate. HMPO Glasgow sent my Naturalisation Certificate to UKVI for them to correct it and return so they could issue my passport. UKVI, as expected took their time!! Good luck to everyone!!
