british passport for child on ilr

i have a child born in the pakistan, he come over with his mother on a settlement vist, applied for a ilr and it was granted. Im wondering if my child can apply for british passport and how to do it

so i have to apply for citizenship first and can this be done immediatley or do i have to wait a year or so after ilr was granted
