I am actually getting a bit frustrated. it took them 6 days to change the status to Documents Received and by tomorrow it will be a week since it changed and they still have not put it as being processed. Maybe they will take a very short time processing or is it that they are very short staffed or things are taking long, I really do not know but I am not very optimistic about Liverpool.

Something strange just happened. I have just received an email from tge passport office sayijg my documents were received. The very same email I received a week ago !. Literally just straight after I posted here lol

There is a possibility your application is moved to another HMPO location and now will be processed there @musti.

No update, still in documents received status. It has been 14 days since I made application. Seems like another waiting drama has started

Looking at the timeline, seems like many applications are going to Liverpool now.

hmmm... now the next challenge seems to be the horrible service of TNT.
I received an email from the Passport office that the passport is on the way on the 18th (for my wife LIVERPOOL) and 19th (for me NEWPORT.).
The status on TNT initially showed delivery of 22nd (yesterday) then at 5 pm changed to 23rd Today but it wasn't delivered and now the delivery date is changed to ..wait for it...... 2nd Feb

Not sure why the Passport office doesn't use Royal mail .. looking at the reviews on TNT and its Twitter bashing ...I just hope it's not a long wait.

Finally got our passports today, my passport and documents delivered together by TNT (in different envlopes) but my wife only got her passport, not sure where to track her documents.

OK so my documents were received by HMPO on 22nd Jan and just now I received another email for documents received notification. But when I logged in my HMPO account it does not show me any date for today’s update.

I believe our applications have moved, hence the email about the documents being received. I highly doubt that all these emails are in error. I jave just logged in and now it is showing that my application is being processed. The email was never changed. They acknowledged the reciept of documents on the 19th and they sent the second email on the 25th but it is still showing as the 19th. I think they will get back to me tomorrow or beginning of next week.

Not yet. My application is still at “documents received” stage. I called HMPO today and kind of coincided with the experience @musti had.

They could not see my documents received on 22nd Jan, where as I can see that on my online portal. Instead they can only see that my documents received on 26th Jan but I can not see that on my online portal.

He said the payment was taken on 26th Jan. I paid on the 16th Jan and the payment went through all fine. Not sure why payment was taken on 26th Jan instead.. but I hope to have some movement to next stage by tomorrow.... these days it is taking 3-4 weeks for many... so hopefully soon...

Same here “documents received status”. I don’t know what is happening and why purr application so not moving to next stage.

I checked my bank account payment was debited next day when I made the application.

Calling them is absolutely waste of time every time I called them they said keep waiting and checking instead confirming whether it is in progress or not plus they can’t tell me why it is not moved to next stage. So frustrating!!

There could be many possibilities:

1) Application is moved to a different location.
2) The passport photo is not good enough what we provided.
3) They do not like the person we provided to confirm identity - so they will go via counter signatory route which will delay the application a bit more.
4) They want to interview someone to confirm identity.

Really all above are possible assumptions, we can only wait and see...

Once the application is in processing stage... it can be approved the same day also...

I think majority cases they are meeting the 3-4 weeks standard...The automated machine when you call HMPO also confirms the same that they are processing first time passport applications in 3 weeks (majority cases)..

More time for those who fall under the above stated assumptions.

Dont worry ours will come soon too.

I do not care when my British passport comes, the only anxiety I have is I do not have my Pakistani passport in hand to fly out in an emergency. Thats all.
