Ceremony letter received but no Home office letter

Post by hopeful_forever » Sat Nov 15, 2014 5:27 pm

Hi all

I've just received my citizenship ceremony invitation letter from my council. However I haven't received any letter from Home office yet. Do we usually get any letter from HO after successful naturalisation application?

I ask this coz, my ceremony invitation letter says I need to bring with me the 'home office invitation letter' that contains unique poll number and certificate cover note. I have received any of it yet.

many thanks

You should get your approval letter from HO. Give it couple of more days and if you still haven't received it, call HO and request the letter to be sent out again.

thanks for the reply. My ceremony is literally next wednesday and haven't received any HO letter yet. I believe I will have to call HO and Council and see what they say.

Do let us know how you get on. It will interesting to see if HO just gives you the reference numbers over the phone or send you another letter and reschedule your ceremony.

Ok so today was my citizenship ceremony and I still haven't received my Home office approval letter. however I've phoned up my council yesterday to let them know about my situation and they advised to turn up at the ceremony with proof of identity. I did so this morning and I got my citizenship certificate.

many thanks
