Child Registration as british citizenship using form T

Post by ervoz » Fri Sep 06, 2019 10:57 pm

I want to register my son born in the UK who is now 10 as British citizen. I am confused and don't know whether to use the online form T or the paper form T as there are some differences between the forms. Online form asked for his current citizenship information and the paper copy does not ask. As he previously had another country's passport and UK limited leave to remain which are both expired and never renewed. So I wondering the impact this might have on this application of becoming British as I still have a non settled status. Please could anyone with experience help.

You must only use the online service. Answer all those questions when asked. To be registered under this section the applicant must:

• have been born in the UK on or after 1 January 1983
• be 10 years of age or over
• have spent no more than 90 days outside the UK in each of the first 10 years of your life
• be of good character

Thanks for your reply. The fact that the paper copy of form T states it for child born in the UK after the stated date and the online form T does not, does not matter? Just that most people I have talked to, have used the paper copy and I know some solicitors use the online copy. I don't have money for solicitors and I want to submit this myself. Any useful hints will be appreciated.

It does not matter. You should NOT use the paper form as advised several times if applying from the UK
