I am also in Coventry council and waiting for the invitation (approved 11 Sept).

At the moment, Coventry City Council is doing citizenship ceremonies only once a month. The last one was on the 23rd of October. @tauqeer81 you having been approved on 11/09/2020 , according to baybars1 model you should receive your invitation letter by the end of November or beginning of December.

Coventry City Council held their last group citizenship ceremony on Monday the 28th of September 2020.
@Luciantod when did they say they are doing your group ceremony?

Hi all

Have we had any more ceremony invites sent out for July approvals? According to baybars model, the printing of all July certificates should have been completed by now and invitation letters in the post for delivery any time in the next 2 weeks.

Hello everyone,

As I have been a follower of this thread for few months now, it’s only fair that I‘d make my contribution to the topic.

Application posted on March 17th
Biometrics done on June 9th
Approval letter dated July 2nd

Still waiting for the invitation and keeping my fingers crossed I’ll get it in the next few days as per our genius baybars model.
Will keep everyone updated as soon as I get the letter.

birmingham city council Here

I’m in Birmingham too and waiting since 10 weeks, slightly approved after you.

They told me by email it’s taking place at the registry office in city centre and ceremony’s are held every Tuesday. No guests allowed. If people prefer a private ceremony they’re available for £206.
Also they said if we don’t have the invitation, but they have the certificate they will book us in without problems.

Two weeks ago they received June certificates.

Hopefully not too long to go now.

Yes, they said they receive their weekly batch every Tuesday and every Wednesday they are able to let us know if they have received ours.

Anyone else still waiting for Home Office ceremony invitation letter for an end of May approval? Council has received the certificate but would not book without letter. I have requested a copy by emailing the Home Office but still waiting on a reply for now.

Yes, I was approved by email in late May; complete radio silence since then. My council is Westminster and I have followed up a couple of times to no avail. I applied in March so perhaps a relatively quick turnaround during lockdown (wondering if backlog works by approval or application date).

My council is Westminster as well. I applied in mid February and am still waiting. As far as I understand the application was processed fairly quickly (in April they told me a decision was made), but then certificates are not being printed for some reason.
As some of the members posted, you can try filling out the ceremony booking form on Westminster website and if they have your certificate it will go through - this will help you rule out the possibility that the council got your certificate but you never received the letter.

Called my council (Liverpool) and i was told they haven’t received the certificate yet

i received my approval via email back in June the 29th and i received my invitation letter on friday via the post.

i received my approval via email back in June the 29th and i received my invitation letter on friday via the post.

thanks , good luok I just received my approvel last week on 14th Oct, But I apply last year I waited 10 months for approvel , now I should waite another 2 or 3 months for inviation letter

Thank you - good to hear. Yes, I did try that a few times and no luck. I will call them again at some point just to nudge. I understand Westminster is one of the busiest councils in terms of naturalisations, but this is a bit ridiculous. I am a few days away from 5 months since approval and no sign of life..

Please be aware we are still waiting for certificates to be delivered from the Home Office, there is an issue with the courier service they use which we have raised with them.

If you have received a letter from the Home Office stating you need to contact your local authority to book a ceremony with in 21 days do not worry due to the pandemic this is no longer being enforced.

As soon as we receive your certificate of naturalisation from the Home Office we will send you an invitation to the earliest available ceremony date.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

The council now have my certificate. Unfortunately there is no private ceremony on offer and you cannot book via phone or email they will only send you letter by post (useless)

We have now received your certificate of naturalisation from the Home Office.

Your invitation will be sent out this week for the earliest available ceremony.

Please be aware if you applied for Citizenship through a solicitors, the invitation will be sent to their address.

Ceremonies will commence the beginning of November.

As far as I understand the blocking point is the HO not sending the certificates, not the council. When I called Westminster council they told me they could book me either for a free public ceremony or for a private ceremony for 100 pounds, but they didn't have my certificate. They also said they weren't getting regular certificate deliveries from the HO and didn't know when the next batch would come.

hi my husband received an email from HO after inquiring about his application that he was approved last 09/06/2020 but still no invitation letter yet..any idea how we can proceed from here..any help would be appreciated..thank you..
