Good afternoon,

Just a question for all who got their approval letters by email and later got invitation letters as well.

Does your approval email come from NationalityCaseworkDecisionService@homeoffice.gov.uk? or any other email?

My approval was from the caseworkers email, writing within the email that application being successful, unlike other people got in pdf format from above email.

As my approval email was from 1st July, I still did not get any invitation letter ... really worried.
I am still waiting for an invitation too but the approval came from the email address you provided. Invitation letter will come via post, not email.
I am just a bit worried that my case is not progressed as it came from a very different email then others.
But I believe we all are getting the approval from the same email address. I didn't see any other?

There are people waiting for an invitation from June..
Okay. I think that not everyone getting approval letters in pdfs, some got from different emails saying certificate not yet printed etc ... or simply application being approved in reply to the enquiry being made. I just want to ask people in here how they got their decisions.

Updated model based on the data supplied by 50 members of the forum.

hi my husband received an email from HO after inquiring about his application that he was approved last 09/06/2020 but still no invitation letter yet..any idea how we can proceed from here..any help would be appreciated..thank you..
Hi,

Did your husband got pdf letter from NationalityCaseWorkDecisionService or from other email? can you share?

I also never got pdf letter, rather email in reply to my enquiry, that application has been successful.

I am just a bit worried if only those people getting invitation letters, who got decision letter from above email only.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It might be that when they tried to send you the email an exception happened. So they instead informed you manually.

Whether that is blocking your application from going to the Print certificate task, I am not sure. But it would definitely be sorted.

Just a suggestion. Don't take my word for it.

It shouldn't be, as your absences from the UK are not reviewed between the approval date and the date of the ceremony and when you get your certificate, you can apply for passport whenever you like. There aren't any questions about your absences from the UK on the passport application if you are applying from within the UK (not sure how it works if you are applying while abroad).

Therefore, I think that you should be fine, unless you are stuck outside the UK long enough to breach the deadline for arranging your citizenship ceremony. However, given that they have extended the deadline to six months from the date on the invitation letter, even in the unlikely event that your ceremony invite was drafted on 8 September 2020, you would still have until 7 March 2021 to attend your ceremony! However, the chances are that you deadline will be at least a couple of months beyond that, so you should be fine if your plan is to return to the UK in four weeks' time.

However, this is just my thinking it through. If you are concerned, you should probably go through relevant immigration rules.

Manchester have explicitly told me they won’t let anyone attend without invitation letter. When I ask if they received my certificate they simply say we don’t get your certificate until you get your invitation. Only then should you contact us.

They wouldn’t even check my ref number or anything. I’m trying to figure out when their next batch is but absolutely no luck. So if anyone else is Manchester Council please share some updates, if any.

Am also mcr council. Cslled HO today and the guy I spoke with was quite confident that we would get letters by end of this month latest. He even asked to cal back if not received by then.

So fingers crossed. Am 31st July approval
Waiting game on this council now.
Alright perfect.

Hopefully MCR gets a batch next week making it 3rd week since the last batch they had.

Hi guys,

I have followed this thread for a few weeks and I'd like to start by thanking everyone involved. Creator, Moderators and contributors. Also a special token of appreciation to Baybars1 for your brilliant model!
It has given me and many others hope.

I applied for citizenship online on 20/03, Biometrics on 24/03 and got my approval by email on 14/07. (Date on approval letter was the same)

Now, on 28/08 I received a UKVI Settlement Survey by email asking for my feedback regarding my 'recent ILR application' and whether I was planning to apply for citizenship in future.

Alarmed, I emailed citizenship.support @homeoffice.gov.uk to alert them of a possible mixup as I had actually applied for citizenship, not ILR.

I finally received a response yesterday (7 weeks later) from someone on the CCST team (citizenship ceremony support team) who assured me that after investigation, all was ok but my citizenship paperwork would be generated 'in coming weeks when current coronavirus restrictions are eased'.

They also reassured me that the usual 3 month deadline to attend the ceremony has been extended to 6 months due to the virus, and no adverse decisions would be made on my application because of corona related delays.

Reading between the lines, it seems there might be further delays to certificate production due to the latest coronavirus restrictions..I don't know. Just have to wait and see. I will let you guys know when I get further updates. Fingers crossed and good luck to us all!

**Online Application: 20/03
**Biometrics: 24/03
**Email Approval: 14/07

Thanks a lot for the update, this is very helpful. I am also waiting to hear from Westminster council and was approved on 21 August. I spoke with them last week and they said they ceremonies are fully booked for the next 2 weeks (i.e. until November). If anyone else got any recent communication from Westminster please post in this forum.

Do we know where the HO facility for printing ceremony certificates is? Is it all over England or is it one big secure facility in a central location? If it’s located in the North, then there will be more delays as more and more places are going into tier 3 lockdowns.

Approved 23rd july
I chased up my council(Birmingham city council) sending them an email yesterday evening

Sadly they still don't have my certificate and have not received any certificates from home office since 6th of October
Following was her reply

Dear xxxxxx

Thankyou for your email.

Register Offices only provide the venue for your ceremony and all of the paperwork is dealt with by caseworkers at the home office who forward it to us when complete to enable us to finalise your application and to arrange for you to attend.

Unfortunately we still haven’t received your paperwork from the Home Office so are unable to arrange your ceremony just yet as we haven’t been sent any certificates since the 6th October.

I understand this is incredibly frustrating for you but unfortunately as we have no involvement in your case the home office are the only ones able to give you an update on your application and as soon as we do receive it we will automatically send out your invitation to you.

Best wishes“

Thank you for posting your update it’s much appreciated.

That’s really bad news.
As they confirmed to me too they get their batches every Tuesday and like they mention here the last one was on the 6th means the one on 13th and 20th hasn’t been sent.

It looks like Home Office has stopped them and as I also didn’t see anyone posting somewhere lately they received something for mid July and later means they might have stopped in general sending them.
That makes no sense as HO promised to keep the deadline end of October for earlier approvals and for the later ones the 12 week deadline, I don’t see how this can be done now. I lose hope.

The only concern if you look at the date the later was printed 02 September till receiving which was yesterday its almost 7weeks that's alarming.

Baybar1 what do you think?🤔

It's bad enough that it takes 20 days. My letter arrived within 7 calendar days after it was printed (the reason I know is that its scan was made 7 days after the date of the letter), but that was in October 2010 and we are now in a different world.

Back to you question, if the Home Office are holding onto the printed invites for some reason, quite possibly because they don't want many of these to arrive before the certificates have reached relevant local councils, some errors and omissions are bound to occur.

Bottom line, they should introduce a digital option for the ceremonies (by way of digitally signing off on a declaration, for online applicants at least) and send the certificate directly to the newly-minted citizen wherever the document is ready. They key difference would be that one becomes a citizen at the point of submitting the digital declaration, whenever the certificate arrives. Instead, a person's citizenship is delayed due to a completely pointless ritual in this day and age. Virtual ceremonies are a good start, but I would go further than that.
