Thanks
I got approval on 15th of Jan and am still waiting for invitation whilst people who were approved after me have already received their Invitations. I’m lost trying to understand what’s going on.

I emailed to registrar and here is reply from them.

Good morning

We received an email from the Home Office to expect details of 2 new citizens. These have not arrived with us yet and we do not know at this stage if they will be your documents. Hopefully we will receive these documents in the next few days.

We will let you know when we receive these certificates to tell you whether or not they are for you and your wife.

Kind regards

I wrote when I was waiting for my approval for more than 8 months and my approval came after that , I guess if you wait till next week Friday hopefully you will get it or may be you get it earlier . I guess your letter have been issued on 31st March or 1st April . Bec home office post via 2nd class so it will take about 8-10 days. Excluding Easter bank holidays. Good luck

Hi all,

My application was approved on 25-Jan. Today I have received a letter from my council (Southampton) that they have received the certificate and asked me to contact them for a ceremony date. Just wondering, is this the invitation letter or should I expect another letter from the HO?

thanks!

Best to clarify with the council directly if you need to wait for the HO invitation letter.

Its just us who applied in December 2020
I have applied on 31st dec 2020
N did my biometrics on 3rd feb

Still got nothing just waiting
I wish i also applied in January 2021
Its so depressing n i m tired of waiting 😭 :(

Hi All, I was approved on 25 November 2020 (original application end of September 2020) and am still waiting for citizenship invitation letter. I have been following up with the Home Office and whilst they have been responsive there is no real timing update as to when I will receive the invitation. Last I’ve heard from the Home Office was two weeks ago saying that my application should undergo some mandatory checks (that apparently everyone is undergoing - is that right and following the approval?) and a note that it should have been sent to me last week, I followed up again but to no avail. I have also been in touch with my MP, they rang the Home Office a month ago and now I am waiting for another update from MP who I also followed up with last week. This delay is causing me so much anxiety and emotional distress and I am hopeful that this will be sorted asap. Is anyone in similar situation to me? Thank you.

Hi mate, can you please let me know the contact details via which you are in contact with the home office. All I can find is a number and email on the gov website. I emailed them but got no reply. I called the number and it doesn’t go through to the home office directly and instead goes to a contact center. I spoke to 2 blokes both gave me different fairy tales. One said my letter was dispatched on the 26th of March without checking even my name, I don’t know how he got that information. The other one said it may have been dispatched and takes 10 working days to 2 weeks and I have to wait. Today my postman came and I asked him how long it should take and he said not more than 3 days and if I’ve not received it by now it’s not been sent or even worse it’s lost. I don’t know what to do anymore :((((

well not everyone is that lucky , although I got my letter at the beginning of March, I'm not having a ceremony until June, that's 3 long months on top of all the waiting before. Frustrating to say the least

Hi everyone, seeing that everyone who has been approved in Feb are also getting their invitations letters should I be concerned as I was approved on the 15th of Jan and have not received anything yet. I have emailed home office and also emailed local council and no response whatsoever. I have called the number twice and the guys on the phone said to me that all applications approved between 8th jan and 17th jan have been send invitations on the 26th of March and they told me to wait for 10 days to see if I get it and if I don’t I have to call back and they will escalate it. Can anyone please help me what I should I do? Should I keep waiting endlessly or should I start chasing them up. If so where do I start? Please can anyone give me some advice?

Date of of approval: 8 January 2021
Date of receipt of ceremony letter: 3 April 2021 (dated 17 March 2021!)
Date of ceremony: 14 April 2021

If you haven't received the letter yet, it might just be delayed in the post

Emailed Hounslow Council, called back next two days later and offered free virtual ceremony for 7th April, thanks to this forum I requested for private ceremony...£125 for 26th January.
Virtual ceremony....took less than 15 minutes. Picked up certificate 5 mins after ceremony. All done now...I'm over the moon. good luck to all who are waiting. Thanks Cullinan and all moderators. Where is Obie? He was very helpful in my EEA journey
Congrats !
can I ask you, since I'm with Hounslow council as well.. still waiting for the invitation but if you do a private ceremony at Hounslow council, is it just you and maybe a guest? do they take a photo with a portrait with the Queen, do they give you anything besides the certificate ?
thanks
It was a virtual ceremony, I wish I asked if my family would be part as I have seen someone with her family included in the virtual ceremony. So please do ask the lady if you can have that.

I just received the naturalization certificate and welcome from them.....hand delivered. Good luck

HELLO COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS EMAIL DID YOU SEND IT TO BOOK THE PRIVATE CERMONY PLEASE

Hounslow council email is on their website citizenship@hounslow.gov.uk. after you email them they will call you back.
If they offer you a date could you please post here when? I'm just curious because when I talked to them back in March they only gave me a date in June as the earliest , outrageous

Finally after 10 months since my approval letter/email (10th June 2020), I've received an invitation letter (10th April 2021). Saga comes to an end.

Is anyone doing ceremony in Merton Council? Just wondering if this is one of the Council who doesn't ask for invitation letter 🤔
