Got approval on 1st feb 2021
Invitation letter printed on 24 March 2021
Received today on 06/04/2021

Anyone who got delay should write a recorded delivery letter to Liverpool office .

Citizenship enquiry office
UK visas and Immigration
The Capital building
Liverpool
L3 9PP
Did you write a recorded delivery letter?
I got approved 9th February still waiting and hopefully I will get my letter next week . I have written my council registry they said nothing has come on my name 🤪.

I had contacted my council and they said the same that they didn't receive anything yet

Hi everyone, seeing that everyone who has been approved in Feb are also getting their invitations letters should I be concerned as I was approved on the 15th of Jan and have not received anything yet. I have emailed home office and also emailed local council and no response whatsoever. I have called the number twice and the guys on the phone said to me that all applications approved between 8th jan and 17th jan have been send invitations on the 26th of March and they told me to wait for 10 days to see if I get it and if I don’t I have to call back and they will escalate it. Can anyone please help me what I should I do? Should I keep waiting endlessly or should I start chasing them up. If so where do I start? Please can anyone give me some advice?

Date of of approval: 8 January 2021
Date of receipt of ceremony letter: 3 April 2021 (dated 17 March 2021!)
Date of ceremony: 14 April 2021

If you haven't received the letter yet, it might just be delayed in the post

Date of approval: 20th October
Invitation recipient: 13 January
Emailed Hounslow Council, called back next two days later and offered free virtual ceremony for 7th April, thanks to this forum I requested for private ceremony...£125 for 26th January.
Virtual ceremony....took less than 15 minutes. Picked up certificate 5 mins after ceremony. All done now...I'm over the moon. good luck to all who are waiting. Thanks Cullinan and all moderators. Where is Obie? He was very helpful in my EEA journey
Congrats !
can I ask you, since I'm with Hounslow council as well.. still waiting for the invitation but if you do a private ceremony at Hounslow council, is it just you and maybe a guest? do they take a photo with a portrait with the Queen, do they give you anything besides the certificate ?
thanks
It was a virtual ceremony, I wish I asked if my family would be part as I have seen someone with her family included in the virtual ceremony. So please do ask the lady if you can have that.

I just received the naturalization certificate and welcome from them.....hand delivered. Good luck

HELLO COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS EMAIL DID YOU SEND IT TO BOOK THE PRIVATE CERMONY PLEASE

Hounslow council email is on their website citizenship@hounslow.gov.uk. after you email them they will call you back.
If they offer you a date could you please post here when? I'm just curious because when I talked to them back in March they only gave me a date in June as the earliest , outrageous

Finally after 10 months since my approval letter/email (10th June 2020), I've received an invitation letter (10th April 2021). Saga comes to an end.

Is anyone doing ceremony in Merton Council? Just wondering if this is one of the Council who doesn't ask for invitation letter 🤔

Hello, I just wanted to ask, is the ceremony letter sent by the HO or by the local council? It seems that the HO needs to send the certificate to the local council before a letter is being sent to you, so my question is: will the HO send an invitation for ceremony when they sent the letter to the local council or will the local council will send that ceremony letter?

I think that depends on the Council. I called Merton Council yesterday and they said I'm the one who has to keep checking with them as they won't be getting in touch with me. He told to call back on Friday as they will be receiving certificates on that day. So I will call them at least once a month or when I receive my certificate invitation letter from HO.

My wife went for biometrics on the 2nd of January and is still waiting for a feedback on her application. Are all January applications stuck like hers or are we in bad luck? (Actually the application was on December, only the biometric was on January.)

UPDATE:

I emailed my local council and they have replied to me that they have not received anything from HO with my name on it. Then I have again called the HO contact number and spoke to another lady who is the first person who has taken all my details down and said she is going to escalate it. She also confirmed a different time line. Saying all the approvals up to the 16th of Feb were sent last Monday. I don’t know if this is accurate or not as I have received different details and time lines from the various people I have spoken to. Was approved 15th Jan. 15th April will make it 3 months which is beyond the time within which I am supposed to get my invitation. Lost in limbo, yet again!

The number from the home office website. ‭0300 790 6268‬
The meant last Monday (not yesterday).
But don’t take my word for it coz I’ve heard different stories from different people I’ve spoken to. I have a feeling there’s some issue with my application and it’s stuck somewhere in the system or worse, lost. And only now that I have raised an escalation it will come back exact what I’m suspecting and have me waiting for another 3 months.

Thank you and I hope you get yours soon as well. I’m suffering mentally and physically waiting for so long. When did you get your approval? And yes the lady I spoken to has said all applications approved till 16th Feb has been sent last Monday. Also I send an email to nationality enquiries and I got an auto generated email saying the same thing. And asking me to wait for 10 working days. But it has been much more than 10 working days for me.

I have seen 9th of February and 16th of February and when you count the weeks of the date on invitation letter from their approval date, it’s always 7 weeks, and they normally get the letters 10 days after. I think this is the way it’s working at the moment.

Thanks for that, where did you see the 9th and 16 of February? Was it in the group?

Date of receipt of approval: 19/01/2021 (sent via email)
Date of receipt of ceremony letter: 06/04/2021
Date on letter: 23/03/2021
Date of Ceremony: 28th July!!!

Waltham forest is really backlogged and aren't doing ANY private ceremonies. So have to wait ANOTHER 3 months for a 20 minute ceremony...aggghhh
