Hi all,

Just booked my virtual ceremony with council! The timeline was:

Application submitted in January
Biometric appointment attended in February
Approval received in March
Yesterday I received an email from the Home Office with the invitation to the ceremony! Booked the ceremony for 28th April.

Receiving an email instead of a letter was quite unexpected :D I recently changed my address in the UK, informed the HO after receiving the approval - now thinking if this might be the reason for the electronic invitation to the ceremony.

Good luck to everyone who's waiting!
Congratulations mate

Can u ask you what date on March were you approved pleases?
Thank you! I was approved on 25th March I think.

Hi guys. I was approved on the 15th of Jan 2021. I’ve still not got my invitation letter and I’ve emailed my local council as well and they have not received my certificate. What could the reasons? I have also emailed and called home office many times and no answer. Could anyone please let me know what could be the reasons for the delays and what can I do?

Sometimes I imagine why the HO behave like that. They have started to give March approvals their ceremony invitation letter, yet there are January approvals not yet treated. It’s so awkward and quite frustrating.

Your only option is to wait for your letter, of course you can continue to call the line you called earlier, you might be lucky to speak to someone.

Hello, Looking for some advice, as Im still waiting for my ceremory invitation

Nationality: EU
Date of application: 16th Sep2020
Date on Approval: 24 Nov2020
Date of receipt of ceremony letter: awaiting

Please can you let me know where should I call/email if i want to get more information about delay in my ceremony? Also Do you advice to call my council even if I didn't get invitation? the only problem is I put a Westminster as my ceremony place. I was during a house change during application and I wasn't sure which council i should pick up (so i picked up the most centre one for ceremony)

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are fine.

My timeline is mentioned below but I am still waiting for invitation letter from Home Office and Newham council since approval on 07/01/2021.

Eligibility criteria: 5 year (Tier 1 Entrepreneur) + 1 year ILR
Language/LIUK Criteria: UK Degree + LIUK
Nationality: Non-EU Pakistan
Method of application: online
Date of application: 19/10/2020
Date of acknowledgement: 20/10/2020
Date of debit of fees: 19/10/2020
Date Biometrics enrolled: 03/11/2020
Date of receipt of approval: 07/01/2021 by email
Date on Approval letter: 07/01/2021 by email pdf file attached.
Date of receipt of ceremony invitation letter from Newham Council: waiting
Date of receipt of ceremony invitation letter from Home Office: waiting
Date of Ceremony: waiting

Have anyone had approval from January 2021 from Newham council?

Has anyone received invitation letter either from Home Office or Newham Council since January approval only? And shall I chase up home office for invitation letter and on which email address?

Is Newham inviting for ceremonies virtually or in person?

Please guide
Received Ceremony Invitation Letter from HO: 31/03/2021, date on letter is 17/03/2021.

Instructed on letter to book within 21 days of receipt of letter with your council (Newham).

I logged into Newham website, it is asking Group and and Private Ceremony option. Private ceremony is costing £105.

Is Private ceremony free in coronavirus pandemic?

Group ceremoney dates are coming after three month.

Plz guide
Great that you received your letters. I am still to receive the invitation from Essex council. They appear to be so slow in the way they do things. The coronovirus epidemic has masked the incompetence in how public services are discharged.
Just to update as I noticed today that there are many slots available in Newham Council London to book or Re-Book/Change. I changed/Re-Booked my Citizenship Ceremony from 1st June to 27th of April 2021.
Almighty Allah be very much Thanked!!!

Yes my friend. I am in the same boat as you. I was approved on the 15th of Jan. your timeline and mine are more or less the same. I received the same email from them saying my documents are not even printed yet and will be printed and dispatched in the next few weeks. What does next few weeks mean? Could be anything. 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 months?

Hi friends,

I want to ask if anyone in this forum has his/her citizenship ceremony with Kingston council. I had my invitation letter, tried to call them no luck. I have request a call back from the website, but not got back to me yet. From your experience, how long normally they will call an individual after getting your citizenship invitation letter? Any contract number you can share with me please?

Hello all,
I have received my decision letter a couple of weeks ago, currently awaiting for ceremony invite letter.
Could you please let me know how do you receive invite letter via post or email because the decision letter has arrived via email?
Once the ceremony invite has been despatched do we get an confirmation email or anything?
Thank you

I think it can both. One person responded in this thread that they Received an email instead of a letter...

I called and they told me to send a request to them via the council website. After sending the message there was an auto reply saying it may take up to 5 days to get a response due to high number of requests.
