Any particular reason for this optimism, with almost all November approvals still to come through?

coolnattu feels expecting approvals for Nov/Dec 2013 to come through this week is being a little bit too optimistic though.......

A few updates from me. I received the acknowledgement letter and have sent off a request for my passport to be returned. Payment still has not been cleared so I have no idea if I've actually paid for it yet. Original post updated here.

The fund was sitting in "pending transaction" since 23rd, and I haven't receive acknowledgment letter up to now.

Called the bank today, the gent said fund was allocated to HO, but they never took it (completed the transaction) so it eventually got reversed... WTF!!

now when I login to the internet banking, I don't see the transaction anymore :'( What is going on!!!

I suggest you wait till you get your acknowledgement/declined payment notice and follow the instruction in the letter......

All the best!

Both kiranchinnu and I are with Santander. I guess this is more of an bank issue than HO issue.

Hi, I wouldn't really say that, I had no such problems and am with Santander as well, although I I notified my bank to put a note on my account that HO will be applying to take £874 from my account.

But lookng at all the people who've had a similar experience, most of them didn't notify their banks regarding the transaction to be expected and treadted as normal.

Wishing you all the best on your journey.

Hi MwanaKay, did you use debit card or credit card for your application? I used Credit card. I did notify the bank, but bank's response was, it won't be possible to leave a "note" about a transaction that is going to happen, I can only get in contact AFTER the transaction is rejected, etc.

In my case, according to the bank, the transaction got a green light from the bank, fund was allocated, but HO didn't complete the transaction, so the fund was eventually released. I'd say if bank rejected the transaction in the first place, I won't see the available balance drop?

I'm going to Australia on holiday at the end of March. I wasn't able to submit my application via NCS so I had to post my passport.

Update... I guess I am too stupid to work out how credit card works.
This morning bank told me HO allocated the fund, but didn't complete the transaction, so fund was reversed.
This evening, £1550 showed up in my recent transactions, and as far as I can tell, HO made no additional request.

Can anyone with insider knowledge explain how the credit card system works, as well as how HO works? I am totally confused!!

I won't bother myself too much about the details/card payments process flow, the important thing is the HO now has your fee, wait for your acknowledgement and ref number simples

Guys, I know these are testing/pressuring times... look at the end of Oct applicants who haven't had their fees deducted yet, what was their fault? they applied immediately after (in a day or two) new rules came into effect...?

If something is happening with your application, consider yourself lucky.. at least you have got "kind of" proof that your application has been received by HO & something is happening with it... Spare a thought for those, who applied earlier than us all but still nothing...

Patience...!

Well I received a delivery slip from Royal Mail today, they tried to deliver to me something. It has the same reference as the self-addressed envelope I sent them with my application, so it's definitely from UKBA.

Should be my passport back, which would be great. Will update tomorrow.

Also, I emailed them and told them about the payment not coming out. I had an email back from the nationality helpdesk asking for my phone number so someone from their cashiers team can call me to organise the payment.

So everythings moving along. Good job UKBA.
