Do I have to take English Language test?

Post by tapash » Wed Mar 14, 2018 3:10 pm

Before I arrived in UK on student visa in 2005, I took IELTS test and got 5.5 average.
I will soon apply for British Citizenship. Would I be exempted from English Language test? I know IELTS is valid for 2 years, but https://www.gov.uk/english-language/app ... ifications says

Applying to settle in the UK
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

  • it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, eg when you got permission to enter

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

It needs to be level B1 AND be on the current approved HO test provider list.

Presumably if you were a student, you have a UK degree????
