Ok Thanks, I got what you mean, I won't be troubling them on this option since this is meant for other inquiries and my application has still not crossed 6 month threshold.

Countersignatory

Post by rightmove » Fri Oct 28, 2011 10:59 am

INFO:

My countersignatory had received letter to confirm that he had signed on my form. He was asked to reply on a business headed letter.

He responded on plain paper stating that he doesn't have a business headed letter. And it worked fine as I received interview letter and I had my interview.

Some people who applied for Naturalisation in July have been wondering why August/September applications are being served first. The answer is it is a pure matter of LUCK, nothing new happened on HO side (ie no building transfers,...). It is a very random process and 95% of applications are dealt with within 6 months of applying (the 5% remaining being generally the non-straight forward ones). While some application make take up to 6 months to clear some others can be dealt with as quickly as 1 month, it is purely down to your luck of draw. I hope this helps.

Congratulations, I am of the view that the Ho has started opening their eyes and thinking more positively. Wish you success in your next task.

Does HO always ask referees to confirm they signed my forms?

Post by trainspotter » Sun Oct 30, 2011 9:44 pm

Hi all, I just want to ask if HO always ask referees who signed my form to confirm they did so because neither of them have been contacted and my application was sent 3 months ago.

Cheers!

The Home office normally does a criminal record and security clearance on the referees without contacting them but not always.

Pre August applications are being dealt with in an inexplicable manner, known to the HO alone

still waiting here, applied on 21/07, so 3.5 months and application not even under consideration...but it feels like July is being dealt with these days from what I can read on the other threads.

Mate, there are a handful of people here waiting since May. Get your expectation right. They're not joking when they say it takes up to six months. The days of getting a decision in 2-3 months are long gone- unless you're very lucky. My advice, is aim for six months and then act after that. No point in stressing out and dwelling about it and get frustrated. Good luck.

based on the evidence gathered from the discussion board, there appears to be no order or priority in relation to applications. In fact an application for naturalisation is now becoming similar to that of asylum whereby an applicant is told the waiting time is about six months but only to wait for ten years for a decision, so better lay the matter to rest albeit temorarily in order to reduce the mental stress waiting can inflict on you

Six months is merely a guide; The HO does not state that an application will take six months, it can be more or less and I am sure that even if ones application is more than six months thay will state that they are not obliged to make a decision in six months. One needs also to remember that the grant of naturalisation is not mandatory.

My experience with the HO is only recent and I have to say so far it is the worst organisation I have come across so far in my life. The application for British Citizenship is not user friendly at all and I was born and bred in this country(UK) so for someone who's new here will find it difficult.

The tracking system for applications is pathetic you call them follow the right instructions and you get a recorded message and then get cut off. If your lucky and speak to someone the just say its 3-6 months waiting??

Sorry if you disagree but I think I will be depressed before we get a decision LOL :x

My personal experience was a nightmare as well....my BC approval took 8 months of my life...yes you heard very well...8 long months...I have to say I was persuading myself that is ok...fine... up to 6 months...BUT, after that each day goes by is depressing as hell...having said that, you better get ready and used to delay rather than be upset and surprised...good luck and hope everyone get it less in than 1 month :)
