DX Secure

Post by fev » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:18 am

Hi Guys!

Does anyone know how long usually DX Secure takes to deliver document from IPS Peterborough to London? Or at least their typical delivery time scale?

Thanks!

Re: Obtained Citizenship

I declared on section 3.6, also added explanation in section 6.7 as well as added a covering letter. Additionally I also tried to prove my good character by other means (as you know the speeding conviction affects the good character requirement). SO I included evidence of chartiable work as well got a letter from my MP sent in my favour of my good character.......

I also sent them the evidence of my written correspondence with the court during my speeding conviction confirming that I wanted to go to court just to explain my mitigating circumstances but the real intention was not to avoid paying the fine.....I can send the covering letter if you send me your email id...

In a nutshell I went above and beyond to make (apparently) a strong case....But eventually i think it also comes down to the case worker on the day, luck and prayers :). .....

Good Luck!!!

I am filling the naturalisation form, and I have a similar speeding conviction in court, I wonder whether you just mentioned it in the application section 3.6 (convictions), or you added any explanation in section 6.7 special circumstances, or in a cover letter.

Thanks in advance.
salmanakram wrote:I finally got my citizenship approved on 7th Dec 2011. I had a speeding SP30 court conviction with a fine of £165. I applied for next day private ceremony on 8th December and got my certificate.

Applied for passport on 12th December 2011 via postal service. Fees were debited for passport on 13th December. Awaiting passport approval and issue.....

Tx to this board for guidance...I am happy to answer any questions regarding citizenship or anything else.....

Good LUK ALL.....

We had a similar case .My husband was convicted in court and we declare it in the application as suggested by Ncs.He got approved in less than 2 months time.So don't worry and go on with your application if you haven't had any other conviction.

I sent them an email about 6.45 today after reading this post and the replied 30 mins later. They confirmed that they received my wife's application on the 15 Dec and a letter has been sent out on the 22 Dec (today) regarding having an interview.

So I called them up and they gave me a reference number and gave me the booking line number. So I have just got of the phone and got an interview booked for the 05 Jan 2012.

Thanks Nazia I didn't know that they had an enquiry form and as soon as I read your post within the hour I have got my wife an interview :D :D

I sent my application through Citizenship application Post on 8th of November. I have received the acknowledgement letter and fee had been debited.

I have not received my passport and driving license. Does anyone know when they usually return the documents back?

The documents are sent back after a decision has been made. This can take upto 6 months.
You can ask for your documents back after about 3 months. By that time, your documents have already been checked and scanned into the system so should be OK to get them back.

Hi,

I applied through NCS on 26/11, the application was received by HO on 1/12 (bit long for a special delivery), and so far I haven't received any aknowledgement, nor any money has been taken from my CC.

I know with the holidays season everything is a bit slower, but still I read here that everyone got the ack letter around 2 weeks after applying, and it's more than 4 since I applied.

Should I be worried?

Its been taken around 3/4 weeks for the money to be taken out from what been said, as long as they have recieved it and all I can say its a waiting game from here, no one will be able to tell you how long they will take.

I know its not a lot of help but we have all been through it and know how you are feeling.

On a separate note my wife just got here documents back from the passport office in a 2nd class delivery even though I paid £3 extra for them to be sent back secured or is the £3 for when the British passport is returned?

You pay £3 for return of your original documents and then IPS uses the same company to deliver your British passport ( I guess this delivery is included in the passport processing fee).
Based on my experience with the delivery company maybe it's not such a bad thing that IPS sent the documents via 2nd class post. I also paid for the secure delivery. My documents left IPS on 20 December and I managed to get them only on 30 Dec after chasing the delivery company for 3 days. They claimed that they had tried to deliver my documents but failed because nobody was at home to sign for them. Admittedly it's a reasonable explanation (though I doubt it after reading reviews about work of this delivery company) but why on earth they didn't leave a card or notified me any other way that my documents were ready for delivery is beyond my understanding. Good I got in touch with IPS and found out that they had sent my papers back. Otherwise I would be still in blissful ignorance without documents.

Thanks for the reply, I dont understand why they didn't use the delivery company as its secure but hey i've got the docs so I cant complain BUT if they went missing I would have been in a different mood :x

I applied for the British Passport. I received my appointment letter on 31/12 and fixed an appointment for the 07/01. Two things I am worrying about:

1-I have not received the original documents sent with the passport application form back yet. Are they lost ?

2-My counter-signatory says he has not received anything from IPS yet. Should he still expect a letter from them ?

Can you please shed some light on those two points

Many Thanks and Happy New Year

Call IPS and ask when did they send the documents. Did you pay £3 extra for special delivery of the documents? Because of the long weekend, some delays in delivery are possible.
2-My counter-signatory says he has not received anything from IPS yet. Should he still expect a letter from them ?
No. If an interview letter has been sent, it means that IPS were happy with the application and didn't feel the need to contact him.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Yes, I paid 3 pounds for secure delivery when doing the check & send and that is why I am worried.

I called DX and they said they tried to deliver the original docs on Tuesday 03/01 (that sounds weird to me because there is no way I could have missed the delivery) so I re-scheduled with them for 06/01
