Because sometimes, citizenship can be based on you parents [and by connection, maternal grandparents].

I don't know why so many people are complaining about this. Either you know [or your parents know], or just write 'not known'.[/quot

a lot of people will complain about was they can't find answer to, remember this site is to enlighten everyone of anything we don't know or understand.
thanks anyways for the knowledge share and can you please confirm if it appropriate to put "not known"?, has any member use this "not known" please?
thanks friend

i guess the questions they ask is changing.. i have seen a recent post with some similar questions like mine...we will start to see more of this for future interviews i guess...yes, they asked which centre i did my life in the UK & how much i paid. in my case it was 50GBP.. also asked if it was written exam or multiple choice, how many questions etc...

best of luck

Ceremony problem

Post by Kaveh » Sun Oct 28, 2012 5:30 pm

I have an approval letter dated 15th of October, but still unable to book a BC ceremony because the council haven't received any letter from the UKBA.

Has this happened to anyone else? should I contact UKBA?

When did you actually receive it? My approval letter was dated 12th October and I received it on 19th October. I rang the council straightaway and was told that they had not received the paperwork from UKBA and ring back the Monday (22nd October), which I did and was then able to book my ceremony.

Thanks Corinna.
I received it on the 23rd and council keeps telling me to phone next day and still no news.

It seems that it takes about a week for them to get the paperwork.

Hey all,

Finally, I had my citizenship ceremony today! I arrived at the town hall about 9:45am. As expected, registration started at about 10am and the actual ceremony started at about 10:30am. The whole thing was over by 11am.

All went well and as expected there were a diverse group of people (45 people in total). I was a little bit disappointed that a number of fellow new citizens didn't make an effort and turned up in jeans, trainers and hoodies. The majority however were quite presentable. Another minor issue were noisy/illmannered children who were sitting with guests. A couple of them were requested to leave the room as it was a right pain with them making noise in the middle of the mayor's speech. Please guys, if you have to bring your children please ensure they can remain silent and are well behaved as otherwise they spoil the experience for others.

After the ceremony there were refreshments.

Also, I went straight to the post office to send off my passport application. The check and send lady found all in order except she wa abit wary about my signed photo as the counter-signatory only wrote my first and last name i.e. my middle name was not mentioned. The check and send lady said they might write to me and request another but she wasn't sure. Anyhow, as my counter-signatory is travelling until next week anyway, I decided to take the risk and send it off as is. If the contact me I will just have to arrange for a corrected one to be sent however at the moment I am hoping it won't be an issue. Anyone else had similar experience?

had my ceremony today and have to agree with kel, kids basically ruin it for everyone .... if only people were more sensible , i know it's a special occasion but why bring toddlers and make them suffer as well as others there.

anyway took no less than 2 hours , was hoping for a shorter one to be honest...

going to send the passport application on monday , hopefully
