EARLIER NATURALIZATION APPLICATION LESS THAN 12 MONTHS

Post by LIANA » Tue Sep 17, 2013 11:17 pm

SET0 wrote:Hi Guys,

I recently received my Indefinitive Leave to Remain (settlement), and the issue date on BRP ILR card is 2-8-2013 however, I have waited for 9 months.

Now I m preparing for British Citizenship application, im just wondering, can I apply 12 months after the issue date, i.e. 2-8-2014 or can I include those 9 waiting months as well that means I can apply soon.

Many thanks for you help in advance.
Hi any one Please come forward and share your experience whose application for ILR was delayed for more than 6 months Due to UKBA & he/she applied for Naturalization less than 12 months after ILR qualifying period, according to the immigration rules which allows the secretary of state to exercise discretion where an applicant fails to meet the requirement to be free of immigration restriction for the final 12 months of the residential qualifying period.

Chapter 18 Annex B Paragraph 7.5 (G) OF Nationality Staff Instructions

7.5 Discretion to disregard immigration restrictions in the final 12 months may normally be exercised IF:

(G) Consideration of an application for Indefinite leave to remain made more than 15 months before the citizenship application, had been protracted through no fault of the applicant , providing ILR was eventually granted .This can include applications for asylum which has resulted in the grant of ILR.

There should be many examples of it as number of ILR applicant were been through hell of longer than 6 months wait for their decisions with no fault of them.
Kindly share you experience as your value information can make a lot difference for others. I am planning to apply now within 18 months of of my ILR application and just after 6 months of Grant of ILR rather than 12 months. But I have tried NCS but they are not willing to apply through their service and advising me to send application personally by post .

Hi Guru (s)

I would be grateful if i can get help with regards to filling in the AN form; I cannot find the answer to this query on this forum so far so I really need your help.

Am a family member of an EEA National; - my father is the EEA National

Question 2.4 - its not clear if this relates to NON-EEA family members. I already have PR for 16 months since I got it. should I just leave this entire section blank and just continue to section 3 or do i need to write how I have been exercising my rights for the last 6 years. Of course I have been working for the last 6 years so am not sure if I should write all the companies I have worked for in these years? Please advise.

Many thanks

Excuse me but wasn't this post supposed to be discussions and chat AFTER the application?

Why all new members are just flooding here with questions when those inquiries should be in the main page of BC subforum so they can receive multiple answers and this post left to be used for what it was purposed for??

Hi Borello,

This is link to download a pdf format - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... orm-c1.pdf

But I would suggest that you take the blank form from post-office and use that.

If you want to use the form in the above link, please make sure that the form is still valid with passport office.

Thanks.

Hi Joy2006,

Hope this helps.

It is clearly mentioned in the form

----------------------------------------------------

2.4 If you are an EEA national or the family member of an EEA national, please complete the following section,
showing on what basis you were in the United Kingdom for the last 6 years. This is so we can see whether you were
exercising your Treaty Rights for a continuous period and have acquired permanent residence in the United Kingdom.
If you are not an EEA national (see page 9–10 of the ‘Booklet AN’), go to section 3.
Are you an EEA national?
Or a family member of an EEA national?
Please state on what basis you were in the United Kingdom for the last six years. Continue on a separate sheet of
paper if necessary.

------------------------------------------------------------

The bold sections make it clear that you will have to mention the details of your employment in details. Easy way would be referring to your P60s given by your previous employers. You might have to call your previous employers if you would want further details to fill out in the form.

This information is asked so that Home Office can establish the proper link between your application, HMRC and your previous visa status.

Hope this information was helpful.

Thanks.

Joy2006 already has a PR Confirmation for over 12 months. He can just skip this section entirely.

This link is for passport application from abroad. Not from the UK.

Get the form from the Post Office. You need to send current passport. You don't need to send old passport.

Hi

My wife is attending the Naturalisation ceremony next Wednesday and we will go for her post office check and send service for passport application soon after.

My questions are these:

1. Is it ok, do you know, for HM Passport office, if she gets her passport application form countersigned by her referee on a date before the date of attending the naturalisation ceremony – i.e. sometime this weekend (while her ceremony is next Wednesday)?

2. When sending the naturalisation certificate (through post office service – check and send) can we include a “DO NOT BEND” self addressed thick envelop (pre-paid special delivery), with a cover note requesting the passport office to send back the certificate in that thick envelop? - this is just to ensure the naturalisation certificate does not get bent when they send it back to us.

Have any of the new passport applicants done that, and did they send the certificate unfolded?

Thanks.

I am looking for answers to the same questions.

I think referees can sign in advance, as date on certificate is earlier than actual ceremony date.

Someone did post that they sent "do not bend" envelope and still passport office sent the certificate back in normal envelope.

Worth a try, at the most they will keep your do not bend envelope as a souvenir.

Yes getting the referee to sign in advance is alright as it is your reference, but if the referee observes you have not filled in your naturalisation certificate number then they may not sign, as the form states, sign this form when it has been completely filled.

And regarding not bending the certificate, if you opt to send via check and send, they will definately bend it into half when then send it out to IPS, this is cos they have a standard envelop and they collectively send many applications together. But if you apply yourself, you can send a self addressed special delivery to return the documents with a note do not bend and hope it comes back in shape. :)

Correction, date on certificate will be the date of the ceremony. That will be the date you actually take on British Nationality. The date will be hand written on the day of your ceremony after confirming your attendance.

Child's application via check and send today

Post by akhurshid » Thu Oct 17, 2013 12:43 pm

Guys,

I have just applied for my daughter's first passport after registration.
They asked me for my or wife's birth certificate which I dont have.
I told them it's not mentioned anywhere on booklet. She said she do it day in day out and it is required.
She has sent the application without it though.
Documents sent:
Filled application form.
2 photos
Daughter's full birth certificate.
Her non UK passports till date.
My current non UK passport and BRP
Her nationality certificate.

My query is, has anybody had this issue before and will it be ok without my birth certificate? I dont have a birth certificate at all as I never needed it before.

Thanks in advance.

Please read threads related to naturalisation applications submitted in september, and you will work out why there is a delay with your application. :?

I think you have done what you could have done. If you want you can write to HMPO again. I suspect they have picked up something about your background from you previous immigration applications. Did you apply for asylum in past? How did you get ILR?

OK, I thought so too from your posts but wanted to confirm.

I think Something has been picked up from your past and that is why your passport is not being issued. If you have done no wrong then you do not need to worry about anything. They will issue passort at some point. All you can do is keep in touch with HMPO and provide them any info if they ask for it.

Apart from this, I don't think anyone can comment any further on your situation.

HELP passport application

Post by tlbanks » Tue Nov 12, 2013 9:35 pm

hi guys, can anyone please clarify for me on filling up the
passport application form section 4.

I have 2 kids. my husband is a british national
I just got my british naturalisation.

my question is regarding the grandparents information.

so for my case thats not a problem.

for my kids, it says if born on or after 31 dec 1982. pls give details
full name, town, country of birth & date of marriage.

would I give my husbands parents details or both(his & mine) our parents' details.

but then it would only fit either his or my parents' details on section 8.

pls help as I'm confused? LOL thanks everyone. please (for other people) don't take a piss. thank you again

For naturalised or registered British Citizens, grandparents' details are not required. Just leave them blank.
