No issue travelling...

Post by helen12 » Sun Nov 17, 2013 3:33 pm

Wow!!!

After British passport, next day flew to Berlin...and no issue at all. My passport was checked for less than 2 seconds and was in Berlin, then to Austria, prague...no problem at all...

Ealrier, I had to appear in person for schenegan VISA with all documents like; salary slip, accountant letter, bank statement, pay 80 pounds plus travel to VISA centre expenses/timeoff for that...now all easy...

Also, once you get Passport, please apply for free NHIC card here...

http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcare ... -ehic.aspx

Pl read about it on website...its good option and free as well..

I have got a few questions actually about PO check and send service.

The guy at post office took my application form, my Turkish passport, my citizenship certificate and photos then He just put them together and give me a confirmation code. He never put them in an envelope and never gave me a tracking number for special delivery. As it says on the gov.co.uk website they are sending them by special delivery Im a bit worried about it. Is this the normal way they are doing or the guy at post office was doing something wrong. It is very important documents he got and Im worried about it. please let me know how yours has been handled. Thanks

Hi,

Don't worry, some times the PO send all the passport applications in one envelope for the day. So relax.

Isnt that unsafe? Cos they can mix up the applications.

No it's safe they put each application in an individual folder.

You will need to send your original naturalisation certificate and your current polish passport. No other supporting documents are required.

British citizenship enquiry

Post by shobapaireddy » Wed Nov 27, 2013 11:37 am

Hi,

I currently hold an indefinite stay status in the uk. It's been nearly 2 years. I had a baby few months ago and wish to apply for British passport. Could I apply for the British pp directly for my baby or do I need to go through the registration process (mn1 form, naturalisation certificate.....etc)

Any advise is appreciated.

Thank you

If your baby was born in the UK then s(he) is British and you can apply for a British Passport directly.

received an interview letter my postcode was wrong phoned them up and they said they cant book me an appointment until all my details are right. they took my phone number and said someone will phone me on monday to correct the details. I dont know how they can mess up my post code by to letters instead of 2QW they put 2GF. I think they did it on purpose for some reason. Do you think I would be able to book an interview on monday when they phone me to correct to details or do I need to wait another letter from them with the correct details?

Can someone please help me to confirm if my referees' will meet the requirements set out in Sec 5 of form AN.

1) British Citizen, age 50+, Works in Royal mail as Post office official, knows me since 2008

2) Non-British, age 35, my University friend back home (before coming to UK) and now he is in final phase of getting his Phd (Research assistant) from University of Leeds. He knows me since 1997.

Looking at the requirements, they say one must be British over 25 and the other can be of any nationality but professional standing. Would UKBA consider my friend who has done B.E and then Masters in Computer Engineering, currently doing Phd as professional?

Your referee 1 is fine as he is a manger of a vat registered company, which royal mail is.

Referee 2 does not qualify. He is not and cannot be considered a professional and he is not a British citizen either.

Just find any British citizen over 25 years old.

I'm applying for my first adult British passport
Together with my kids first passports

Is it better for check & send in the postal office or
I can just send it myself via special delivery?

I'm abit confused for check & send if I need to pay £8.75 per applicant even if I'm sending them all together.

It is your choice.

You can read FAQ's on the board about passport applications on this board.

Passport application is simple. You should have no problem applying yourselves without C&S.

I have the same problem. I was trying to book my interview, but the date of birth was wrong... They asked me to send my citizenship certificate again ... They had my eu passport, citizenship certificate and application ... And now asking me again to send documents... What a mess!!!

I don't think GP will be ready to sign for you unless you know the GP very well and friend. Logically they are right too for not signing.....!!!??
Best thing is to get a known friend to get signed, if you have managed to get one with British Passport.
Somewhere else in the forum someone asked the same question, I think, so have a look on that, you will get an idea....
