I applied for naturalization in October 2015.

Sent all my supporting documents plus 3 passports and BR.

Today I received a letter from HO saying they have not received the passports or BRP.

Please note that these were all sent together withe the application form. They've sent back some supporting documents ans have said that's all they received.

Where do I go from here because those passports are now missing!
did you send your documents in special delivery? if yes then do you have receipt? From the receipt you can chase to the home office.

Hello,
When applying for British Citizenship and British Passport at the same time and using the National Checking services - do I still need to send my passport from my original country? or they take copies and that's ok?
Why I am asking - I would like to travel in March.

one more question - can I travel at all while my application is considered or should I stay in the UK all this period until I get the Citizenship?

NCS take copies and give you the originals back. You are free to travel once you have submitted but bear in mind that you have a small timeframe in which you have to enroll your biometrics once you receive the letter.

Thank you very much!
I definitely will use an NCS.
So I can book the tickets.
I am going to apply for BC soon, I think I'll have more questions :)

Hope this is the right thread I'm using to ask this question!

I applied through NCS in end Oct and awaiting decision
I want to travel abroad though but have a baby who needs a passport - baby is British as I had ILR when he was born and he was born here.

I read that it is complicated getting a child's passport when none of the parents hold a British passport.
So I'm waiting for my approval but not sure how long I'd need to wait plus the delay after that too waiting for child's passport.
Has anyone gone through this/similar issue and got a child's British passport when none of the parents had a British passport?
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if I used a wrong thread to ask this question.

You only need to submit your ILR BRP card to prove you were settled for the baby to apply for a British passport. It is not complicated at all. You don't have to wait till you are British to apply for the child.

Mods: Not sure what's the difference between this thread and general discussion so posting in both on purpose.

All, I know it's a waiting game with loads of patience needed but just wondering that how do we get the approval acknowledgement: letter or email from HO or from NCS or both?

What happens if a letter is lost in post esp. given this busy period? How do we ensure we don't miss or waste time instead of checking via another route if approval given or any other info. requested by HO? I really would prefer if they emailed rather than just a letter! The application received acknowledgement was just a letter whereas some people say they get an email too.

I applied via JCAP/NCS on 15 Oct and gave my biometrics on 28 Oct. Few people who applied just few days before me but gave biometrics after me have already got their approvals which is a tad annoying haha!

This thread is for after approval, the key is in the topic title containing the word AFTER. Note, this topic was started long before the JCAP scheme. The other thread, where I have already responded to your exact same question, is for questions BEFORE and DURING the application and waiting process.

Ah OK I see, thanks for clarifying. Just that purely from a language perspective "discussion after BC and passport application" can be misconstrued as "after application made" as opposed to "after approval". It would be clearer if it's renamed to "discussion after BC and passport application approval" :P

Someone decided to 'revive' this topic after a year so probably best then to lock it and stick to the other one that is mostly used, especially considering the various topics on the newer JCAP scheme.
