under what catagory you haved applied and how i mean by NCS/POST/LAYWER so please contact to the ukba and tell your time or speak with any caseworker about that ok
Thanks Nazia

called them a couple of times over the last few months. Most recently was yesterday when they said that it was still under consideration!
I applied through the NCS merton. How would i know if they needed more documents. Also you mentioned that i can speak with a caseworker. Is it possible?

ta Mohammad[/quote]

i have no idea but if the call center person cant get enough information then you have to speak with sombody else or sombody senior out there to explain you why is that delay. call them again and tell them your timing that its 6 mouth now maybe they will consider straigt away but you have to call them

Ah wow, I've only been away a few days but so much has changed in the forum!

I had to call the HO to update some information and discovered that my application is yet to be allocated to a caseworker. Applied on 18th April, the call was made on 29th June. Frustrating times.

Re the issue around chatty threads, I agree with alta. Unstructured discussion is a key source of some very valuable information and in understanding the process. It honestly is unrivalled! I can look at timelines all I want and read through the UKBA's instructions to caseworkers all I want, but it is somehow just inadequate!
I only joined the forum to join in discussions - otherwise would have been quite happy staying a lurker. I'm sure the same can be said of several other members.

So I guess what I'm saying is that discussion is very important and very helpful, it will probably increase traffic (or prevent any reduction in traffic!) and will encourage more people to share their stories and experiences. Call me presumptive, but I was under the impression that the latter was the aim of these boards.

A request to all forum users:

Come on guys why everyone started adding different comments on the timeline thread. It was not just moderators but many of us were having difficulties viewing exact timelines on the previous forum. And there many instances where 4-5 pages were without any timeline.

Thoguh this thread is sticky but almost at the top since i created this, can we please at least continue discussing all the things about timeline here.

I called them yesterday to find out about the ack letter and to make sure they have my right address, as they messed up the address info during my ILR.
The guy on the other said - its waiting to be allocated to a case worker. And about my ack letter he said I should get it next week and my address is right on their files!

While I was on the phone with him I should have asked him my ref # but nevermind.

so that's my update!

1664,

so your case is waiting allocation to CW. Does that mean, Initial checks have been done already?

You think processing times would have improved a bit?

My aim was to confirm the address they had and also chase them for the ack letter. However there was no mention of initial checks so it'll be hard for me to say at what stage the application has reached. Speculating if initial checks are done before allocation to case worker, then, it would seem as they are done and now waiting to be assigned to a cw.

Just saw in timelines topic that someone who applied on 7th June has received the approval. This is quick. Hope they are clearing the cases quickly and we should hear soon.

Is EEA family member citizenship application process quicker that non EU?

And it looks like postal applications are quicker - they receive them quickly and also the approval letter appears to be reaching the applicant quickly, probably because of self addressed recorded delivery option. NCS approvals are sent second class and taking about 10 days from decision.

I don't think it is necessary true that postal applications are quicker. I think it depends on which case working team are allocated applications. What is true is that post applicants receive their approval letters faster.

postal applications are not quicker its up to which CW are with , there are people who send application via post since april and they are still waiting
may be they are quicker once the decision is made and if here is a self adressed recorded delivery included with the application

Why is this discussion not sticky? As many other members have already stated, this has been and wil be a very useful source of information for many people.

Jeez....the moderator here has some thing against having a general discussion about BC applications. Stubbornly refusing to make this a sticky topic and promptly deleting comments in the other section.

I can make a wild guess that the moderator is a human.

Guys please dont get me wrong, but if we discuss about some useful stuff here, then moderators will have no choice but make this as a sticky post.

Guys - it doesn't matter if this is a sticky or not - all we need is some place where we can discuss on applications apart from BC Timelines

no even i havent. I applied on 13th. So think its too early to start calling without any reason.
There is one forum member who applied in June and has already received his/her approval. Application was family member of EEA national. Not sure it was quick because of that. If not, I assume that June applicants will start hearing from HO soon

Yes I saw that - and was surprised to see a result this early!
Yes,best to wait for a couple of weeks more before making any calls..
