Oh God, since August, That's over six months, I thought I am few of unlucky ppl who have to wait for longer but feeling for u now... I wish they had premium services for this process too... This long waiting game is torture... I phoned them on the 0300 123 2241 number yesterday. They took my details and said that they'd forward it to the relevant team. Today I got a phone call back, and literally the lady just read out info from the website after confirming all my personal details 'All applications are aimed to be decided within 6 months, and some take longer' you do not need to contact ukvi etc etc.
I also emailed the FMT team several times over the last few weeks and have had no word back... Not sure what else to do now!
Any advise / suggestions? I mean it would be great to calm down, not think about it nor do anything but the anxiety and stress is so hard to cope with...
I feel your pain. I am in exactly the same position and also applied in August. They responded to my email dated from 27/02/18 by post today. They are saying that the good character checks are still on-going. I very much doubt that randomness has anything to do with this! This is a citizenship application and many things come into play! Nationality of the applicant and that of their spouse (if any), all sort of history in the UK and sometimes even history in other countries, places the individual has been to before, etc.. Careful consideration has to be given to each application for naturalisation in order to ensure that the statutory requirements are met. The processing of a naturalisation application is not subject to time limits. The Home Office strives to decide applications as quickly as they can.
The progress of these cases is regularly monitored with the agencies carrying out these enquiries on behalf of the home Office. It is only when the enquiries have been completed that a decision on whether citizenship should be granted can be reached.
As soon as our enquiries are completed, the Home Office will make a decision on the application and contact you immidiately.
Has anyone recieved anything similar? Wonder if they take a random sample to conduct extensive checks through external agencies which takes a while? I seriously cannot think of why my case has taken so long, except a significant number of days spent overseas on short business trips (letter from employer enclosed in paperwork) and the days were less than the limit.

How long do you think it will take to give me my decision or answer ? Tomorrow Will be one week since I sent them answer to their questionnaires

Further to completion of 6 months and based on the confirmation above that decision would be made by 7th March 2018, I called HO to check on progress yesterday. Hi there, after sending my questionaire to them, and checked they received it online.
My decision came just 7 working days after that..
And those that av similar issues on the forum, received within one week too.
Hopefully you will receive yours too within the time frame. Pls keep us updated.

Congratulations.
I knew u will get approval since u were asked further docs and the questionnaire.
Most pple I know with such questionnaire got approval once they provide all they asked for.
Welcome to a new world of being British now.
You don't av to send your pr card back, I didn't send mine. It applies to those under UK law with BRP CARD, not us with EU PR card.

Was this in an email or letter? Did they not say they had sent you something on the 5th of March? Which would most likely be your decision?
Hi good people, please i am very stressed, i am in the same situation. i received questionnaires and evidence. but with my case i could not send much documents and most documents i sent were copies. because i sent all my original document to home office in 2009. I was a victim of domestic violence back in 2009 and got an original letter from women's aid to confirm this. do you think i have chance to get granted citizenship?
