I suggest you get back home in peace, and after reading their letter, ask anything else you may have doubts about. :)

Thanks very much, you are so right, got home that day and found enclosed, just a small passort sized return envelope with a specific address and code number for the case worker working on my application, and another note saying please enclose the documents requested into this envelope and post. There was also a note saying: "Also note that if your aplication is approved, beow is how your names and date & place of birth will appear on your certificate."

Do you reckon this is a positive sign or there requesting for my old expired passport showing visas given me going back 4 years, means they are not convinced of something?

Anyway I sent the expired passport which has all my visas going back as far as 2009, they got it this morning 08:07 and signed for it (royal mail tracked).

Fingers crossed, still praying and anxiously waiting to conquer Everest BC!!
Thank God for I have a British Passport!!!.

Applied on the 1st of June. Payment received on the 4th and acknowledged on the 6th. Got the usual email response of "not yet been allocated to a case officer" 2 weeks ago got an email back saying is with a case officer but no decision is yet been made. Still waiting , And yes,i was told its a very straightforward case. Been here 15 years on ILR received in 1999. Its just luck of the draw i think as my application wasn't even touched for 6 months

This neither a positive sign nor a negative one. I must say, this is a sign that you did not make much effort to get your application right.

Why on earth did you not send them all the passports that cover your qualifying residence in UK?

How are they supposed to know how many days you were absent from UK without looking at all the passport covering 5 years period?

But its good that your application is being looked at, and I hope once they have your passport, they will make a decision soon.

Good Luck. :)

Hi All
Am back again with another question (feeling a little embarrased for asking too many questions). Please can someone advice me, is travelling aborad after passport and BRP have been returned to you while your naturalisation application is still being considered by UKBA a NO NO or is it allowed?

(Just to shed some more light; my docks were returned to me and UKBA asking for me to just send them my old passport containing VISAS going back 5yrs. I have all my travel docs with me now, but was considering going on a week's holiday abroad.)
Thank God for I have a British Passport!!!.

Dear fellow members,
My local authority says that they don't have any private ceremonies and the public one is on the 29th of this month. My question is can i arrange for a private ceremony with a different local authority?

Hello PMwanaKay »,

If applied using NCS, you will be able to keep your original documents so you will be able to travel following the application. Don't forget to come back for the ceremony.

Please always read the FAQ before posting, the answer to your question is 'Yes' you can travel.

Hi Guys,
I recently made an application for naturalization, using the NCS. I would like to know if it is ok to travel overseas during the application process or if this could affect the outcome of the naturalisation application. The HO have taken the application fee, and I am basically waiting for an approval letter.

Thanks.

Hi,

I've applied for naturalisation via NCS in November and the payment has been deducted on the 10th of January 2013. I have a one month holiday booked from Jan 30 to the end of Feb. Must I be physically be present when the approval letter comes through? Is it advisable to travel abroad?

Any information would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
Zombie

Hi Zombie,

No you do not need to present in the UK at the time of approval. You can travel without a problem.

However, make sure you inform someone at home regarding your application, just in-case the home office require additional documents or wants to get in-touch with you.

Also don't forget to come back to the UK for you ceremony within 3 months once approved.

Hi All,

I am planning to use NCS to apply for naturalization and want to use Life in the UK test certificate and my Masters Degree obtained from London South Bank University to meet the requirement for KOLL.

Does anyone know if NCS/ Local Boroughs are aware of the fact that UK degree is enough to meet the B1 requirement of KOLL.

I don't want to book an appointment with them and get told that they need B1 certificate and they will not accept UK Degree as an alternate.

Any advise/ suggestion/ personal experience will be appreciated

I'm very sure all the NCS centres in the UK know all about the KOLL requirements now, you have absolutely nothing to be worried about.

Thanks for your reply.

I was looking for someone who had a similar experience. I will wait for another week before I make an appointment, in the meantime I am sure someone will share his/her experience.

2-List of documents should i prepare to attach with application?

2 whats the average processing time?

Naturalisation application processing centre is in Liverpool. This is why it went to Warrington mail centre for delivery. It should be delivered soon.

Hi Forum,

Just a quick question; does the home office send out the approval letter and also notify the council at the same time?

If not, how long does it take for the council to be notified or for the council to receive certificate from the home office?

1) it's valid, no need for a new one
2) Degree is sufficient. No need for naric certification if it's an accredited UK university.
