Hi Everyone,
I applied for naturalisation on 14/12/2017 and still waiting for the outcome. My solicitor did not do a good job because he sent my wife original passport along with my application which she need it now. I did an online request for returning my wife original passport on 15/03/2018.I did not receive it within 10 working days so I again on 03/04/2018 filled another online form Called (I did not receive my document) again .I have not heard anything from HO yet.
My question ,Has any member experienced such thing in returning document request?
If nothing happen ,what would be my next step?
Thanks
Hi Everyone,
I sent an e-mail to (
NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) and asked for update on my Naturalization application and return of my wife passport yesterday.
Today I received a call from HO ,the man on the phone told me that my case is with a case worker and will not be long to make a decision and my wife passport is returned on either 15/04/18or 05/04/18(The sound quality was really bad and could not understand ) to my solicitor address which I just called and he confirmed that he has not received it yet.
I will wait two more weeks.
My question if I do not receive it at all , shall I report it lost and apply for a replacement?

Hi, went to the NCS today and I didn't take my previous passport so I'll have to go again tomorrow.

My current passport starts on the 17th of September 2015 and my last one ends on the 19th of January 2015, so there's an 8 month gap there. Now in 2015, I took my AS-Levels, so I'm going to take my certificates and my results there to show that I did the exams in the June of 2015. But there's still a 5 month gap in between January and June.

But during this period, in May 2015 I also got my indefinite leave to remain.

Is this enough evidence that I was in the UK throughout this entire period?

@ mmali,
You don't have to do another one yet.. keep chasing for the one with homeoffice, and let them confirm sending it to you.
Am sure still with them, just dragging their feet and in process the of application.
CITIZENSHIP confirmed.

Thanks for your view
I will chase them until I get a confirmation of return or the passport itself.

I had 8 months gap and provided bank statements any most of the correspondence which could highlight my presence. Communication with govt department is always better, TV licence, council, voting ...HMRC etc ...

Thank you for your response. The thing is in 2015 I was under-18. Whatever bank statements I got I threw away since I never used my card, never visted doctors, paid no bills/taxes or whatever. I don't even have my school reports from that time, just my AS-level examination results and certificates so it is quite annoying to have this gap.

If anyone else could tell me if just providing exam results and such is okay, that'd be great.

Bank will always have records of statements and can be printed off. They will know the date you applied etc.

Hi All,

Any help would be much appreciated.

I submitted my online application on 23/02/2018, and received my acknowledgement email on 26/02/2018. I appreciate my application is still within 6 months timescale, however, by reading some online forums I could see that the some applicants didn’t receive their approval letters by post which resulted them not being able to attend their citizenship ceremony on time. As a result of this they had to re-submit their applications. This could potentially be an error on Royal Mail’s part or the Home Office.

I have called Home Office three times but I was refused an update because my application is still within 6 months timescale.

I solely would like to know if the application has been decided or it’s still pending a decision. Is there any way to get an update ?

Again, the online forums show that the applicants who submitted their applications in early March have received their decisions. Therefore, I’m a bit concerned that the decision letter may have gone missing in the post as it’s normally sent via a normal 2nd class mail.

Am I just over thinking and getting paranoid or is it normal for HO to take longer on certain applications without any valid reason or update.

Cheers

Dear senior members,

I am seeking urgent help on my friend’s behalf since he is not a member yet.

He submitted his British citizenship application with the uncertified photocopy of his passport covering some part if his stay as he had lost his previous passport.

He got a letter from Home Office to provide the other evidence of his residence. However they haven’t mentioned in the letter what evidence of residence can be accepted. If you can please help in what documents can be supplied would be really appreciated since they have given very short time deadline by 24th April and failure to comply will result in refusal of application.

Many thanks

If I can recall correctly, my NCS rep informed me the onus of proving my stay in UK lies with me, though it's also true home office has access to landing cards information etc, you don't need to worry if you were in the country. Declare in a cover letter and that should suffice after all you can't create a document.

In order to cover the period for lost passport he may provide any and as many correspondence between him and government departments during that period, council, DVLA hmrc, if those are limited you may provide bank statements which cover local expenditure, payslips, rental agreement etc, children's school letters if that applies to you, utility bills are seldom accepted. HO want to establish if he was in UK and best document is passport, if lost passport you may provide any police report you may have for same, also you could write. As my response to another member, NCS told me onus of proving your stay in UK is upon the applicant.

Dear board members,

Just wanted to inform you that today I have received my approval letter dated 16 April. As I had mentioned in my previous message that my second referee's passport was expired when he signed my naturalization application and I was a bit concerned about it. It seems that it was not a big deal. Just sharing it in case if any applicant is in the same situation then there is nothing to worry about as the home office can probably get details of referees in such cases. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Hi there, as long as u have done biometrics and they confirmed your application received, you are still ok on the right track. outcome could take up to 6months and some cases longer.

After my submission in June last year 2017, I received email confirming they received it, then letter for biometrics. I did not ask for any tiny information about progress or status of my application, I totally forgot about it, took my mind off it, although seem like sitting on the edge " cos of my circumstances to my application"... ( and hoping for the positive letter from them).

Until about 5months and 3weeks, I heard from them with approval letter.

So you can keep the hopes high waiting or chase them with your emails or calls..

But they know how to drag with applications.

Best of luck.

Hi Guys,

I applied on 3rd of November, and I am still waiting for a decision yet. I am getting little impatient now :( .

I emailed them yesterday and got very generic reply “Thank you for your e-mail. All applications are dealt with in application receipt date order. As you application was received on 32th November 17, It will take a while longer for your application to be considered”… (32th Nov 2017) Yes that's right... lol
hi ZFDar

did you get your approval letter ?
could you please update your case ? I am in same situation.
thanks

Hi Friends - I'm in process of applying for Naturalization along with passport using JPAC +NDRS service. Based on my current status of online application process, I have the following questions:

1. In regards with the absence, do we need to go back as far as 5 years? It's not mentioned in the online form stating absence needs to be filled only for last 5 years.
2. In regards with the residency proof - Do they only check for last 5 years? We don't have old passport going back more than 5 years so we cannot show stamping for more than 5 years old.
3. In regards with the referee for my daughter, can we get it from her religious teacher/institution as she has been enrolled for last 4 years?
4. In regards with the photo's - How many photos are required in total? 3 for Naturalisation & 2 for passport?
In regards with the passport application - do we use the paper form available from Post office?

Would be really grateful to get your response/feedback.

Regards,
Mas

Again, the online forums show that the applicants who submitted their applications in early March have received their decisions. Therefore, I’m a bit concerned that the decision letter may have gone missing in the post as it’s normally sent via a normal 2nd class mail.

Am I just over thinking and getting paranoid or is it normal for HO to take longer on certain applications without any valid reason or update.

Cheers

Thanks Jadoom,

I emailed them Thursday last week. So will see if I get a response. Do you have any rough idea how long they take to reply ?

Cheers

email takes about 5 days and other email which start from( nationalitysupport @) some time they reply same days or two to three days.
Cheers

Got a reply today saying I will be contacted within 21 working days. Wonder what’s taking them long whilst many people applied after me have already received their decisions 🤔
