Judging by the processing timeline threads it usually take no more than a week from passport fees deducted to the approval letter arriving. I had mine deducted on 29th of May and still no sign of the approval letter. Should I be worried?
Hi,

I am in a same boat, but there are many cases in timeline thread where it took 25 days or more for the approval letter to arrive.

Every case is different and so is every caseworker. There are people who received approval letter after 10 days some after 15 some after one month etc

Thanks

It's been 27 days since my husband's passport fee has been deducted. No sign of a letter. I suspect the two are not related, they just take the fee when they start looking at your application.

Oh no. This is not good. But i have noticed that once the passport fee is deducted i havent seen any rejections. So looks like passport fee deduction is positive sign.

I hope mine turn up soon.

hi every one,

i have applied for citizenship on 16th of April. Home office took my fee 14th of may and i have received acknowledgement email confirming my application on 15th of may. it has been almost two weeks i have not received biometric letter. i have been reading timelines. most people received biometric letter 2/3 days after payment. has anyone else facing this issue?
Hello brother
I see you submitted your application by post as paper form , I am same as you , and you got a acknowledgement letter ? I was wondering if the acknowledgement letter you got that list all documents you sent in details with the application, like how many passport how many p60 and BRP and life in the uk and language certificate ..etc.. ? Cause mine they mentioned passports some documents but never mentioned that they got my BRP and lifituk n language cert.. !

But we don't see many rejections in the first place. Most people either get accepted, or never post again (so we don't know how their applications turned out). Very few people post about getting rejected. Also, joint passport applications haven't been around for that long. So it's perfectly plausible we haven't seen any cases of this on the forum yet, even if passport fee means nothing.

Yes. Not very long. If they had been around for 5, 6 years we would have seen cases of people being rejected after the fee has been deducted, if that happens. After 1 year, not so sure - as there are few rejections in the first place (most applications are successful), few people post about getting rejected (and if they do, they rarely give complete information), and unsuccessful applications often take quite long.

PS: Only quite recently have the timeline posts even started including "date of passport fee deducted". That's only a thing of the last couple of months, probably started along with the new online application.

Hi

True. but i haven't seen any such cases in last 4-5 months, so this is a positive sign.

They don't list every single document. The standard documents are usually listed as 'supporting documents'.

You can't get an accurate picture of refusals or successes on here, the amount of people posting is a drop in the ocean compared to the thousands of applications per month, a more accurate result is published by Home office.

It's a sample. Much like an opinion poll etc. It could give you a pretty good idea of success rates if it were a representative sample, but I suspect it is far from representative. I'd expect people posting in timeline posts to be better informed than the average applicant - few of them will make basic mistakes regarding absences, for example - hence having a higher success rate than average.

And also, many people never report the outcome of their application. I suspect that if they're not successful, they're much more likely not to bother updating than if they're happy about their successful application.

Hi everyone. Basically I did apply my naturalization on the 16th of April. And I forgot to mention police caution on 2010 it was 3 points on my licence I'm penalty. I just completely forgot about it. They didn't processing my application yet. What shall I do guys I need advice.
There is a possibility they will accept your explanation of forgotten if you reveal it now. After the decision is made it will be difficult to change. I recommend you write them and inform them about the lapse. After 3 years a non custodial sentence is ignored so it wont affect the decision but lying (by not mentioning) will.

Thank you I did write a letter to them today to explain that I forgot about it and I apologise with my case ID that i received it today. I hope it didn't affect my application.
My application of Citizenship has been successful. i received today.

I am following this page since January. 18. i have applied in December. 2017 and just recived a letter from Home Office stated that

Following our assessment of your case, unfortunately it appears your application will not be processed within 6 month target.

This is because your application raises exceptionally complex issues and we require further time to consider your case thoroughly and reach a decision.

Now feeling very sad and worry i don't know what i did wrong .. I would like to know if anyone has received recently such a letter. my english not good forgive me for any mistakes.

I submitted my application online on 09/05/2018
Submitted at NDRS + JCAP on 15/05/2018.

Passport fees debited from my card on 14/06/2018.

Hi Lambo10

Can you please advise where did you tracked your passport application when you applied through JCAP. I am in a same boat and want to check the status as my passport fee has been deducted but no approval letter yet.

Thanks

Just typed on Google 'online UK passport status checker'. It will requested for detail and JCAP barcode number issued to you as at the time of submission.

Hi The rock

Pls note, you won't get and immediate answer, but, you will receive and email message spontaneously which will give an overview of your passport application status from HMPO.

Hi TheRock9

I have spoken to PO and two persons I spoken to were confused about when a fee is deducted is a possible indication of application approval or not. Actually one of them said the fee is deducted by HO and I questioned him back that why would HO deduct passport fee as the fee form I filled was for PO and not HO. Anyways I later than spoke to HO and they were not sure either. Even though this should be very straight forward.

I was in the same boat as you and this morning I received my approval letter. I applied on 19th of April. PP fee taken on 25th May. Date of approval says 12th June. Received on 23/06. Hopefully you should be receiving sometime soon too.

HI,

Congratulations and thanks for your reply.

I spoke to Passport person as well and he said they did receive my application and passport fee has been deducted but he said he cant tell me the status of my passport application as yet as i have not attended my oath ceremony. To which i asked a Question what if my Citizenship is refused, will you refund my money. He said no we do not. I said council receipts says different as it say money for passport fee will only be deducted once the citizenship application is approved. To which he said then you have to contact HO.

The other person i spoke to said that he is not sure what happens if the fee is deducted and citizenship is refused, but he said in this case you should contact HO.

Fingers crossed and hope for the best. My passport fee was deducted on 29th of May, i applied on 21st of April.

Thanks

Thanks
