Hello,

I’m a bit confused, again.
I got a letter from the council congratulating me on my application being successful yay!! and they gave me a date for a ceremony, but I haven’t received a letter from the Home Office yet? I need to confirm the ceremony date, but I can’t until I get the letter as they are asking for a poll number and a reference number which you can only find on the Home Office letter.
Has this happened to anyone? Shall I wait a few more days in case it shows up in the post or should I get in touch with the Home Office ?
Thanks!
The letters come separately from different places. Wait a few days.

Guys I need your advice,

I’ve been reading a lot these boards and am about to file my application for BC but am concerned it might be refused. I overstayed my student visa in 2011 (outside the qualifying period) until I got married with an EEA national in the end of 2012. Got a RC from 2013 and PR last month 2018. I never worked during these overtaying months, got support from my family sending me money from overseas to my foreign bank account. I don’t have any other issue - criminal, bankruptcy, public funds, taxes, all in order. I’m still married. Do you believe they will resuse my application straight away?

You would be best off applying in 2022 (the tenth anniversary of your marriage to the EEA citizen and of your acquiring legal status in the UK).

One more question I hope you can help me with.. I was reading I need to return the BRP after the ceremony. As an EU citizen I had the blue permanent residency card with no biometrics on it. I only did the biometrics when I applied for naturalisation and no card was issued. What am I supposed to return, if anything ?..
Thank you!

Thanks Secret Simon. I've been reading the 'unsuccessful applications' forum and found that some people who overstayed their visas for years were granted citizenship on many different grounds. I understand that usually they do send a letter asking how the applicant survived without working during that time. I will have a chat with my solicitor next week as well. But thanks for this!

Hi all, my application is coming up on 50 days of processing, I can see some people who have applied after me have gotten their approvals already. I changed my address a couple of weeks ago and filled out online form. I am a bit worried though if I missed any communication from the HO, and would like to inquire about the status and the address update. I tried calling but it asked if it has been longer than 6 months and I did not proceed. I can see that lots of people get their applications decided very quickly.

Any advice is appreciated

Thanks

Forgot to ask, I got a new debit card and the one I put on the passport application is no longer valid. Is there any way to contact them to update the card number?

Hey,

Send these people an email (email below). Same situation I applied and sent documents on 08/08/18 and others I know have had their letters and some have already had their ceremonies and awaiting passport. These people applied a week and even 2 weeks after me. It really isn’t in chronological order which is not great. Email these people - NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gov.uk

And for the passport if you go on the website or call the number on the form you’ve got as proof that you applied for a passport and let them know they can take the new details otherwise you have to wait for them to send you a letter to say payment incomplete. Hope this helps xx

Thanks Yr206

I called passport hotline and they told me to call HO. I'll email them as you suggested

What's the difference between these two email addresses, which one is better for address change inquiries?

Ah I see. Has your passport application reached them yet? I am not too sure to be honest about the difference but I emailed the address I gave you and got a reply to say my application was with a caseworker and I will hear from them soon. You could send the same email to both addresses and see x

Looking at July/Aug 2018 timelines, many getting their approvals in less than a month. Is this norm these days or they're lucky? I thought mine was straightforward, Tier2/ILR, one job all these years, no extended absences etc, and nothing yet, it's been nearly two months.

Good People I am looking for help regarding this situation!

My sister applied for BC and its 10 months passed already. Upon enquiring she was told we are still considering the application. However 2 months ago she received a letter from HMRC to say she owes 7k in taxes. She then made an arrangement to pay of the tax bill and have received a 'payment arrangement letter' from HMRC. My question is what should she do with this letter. Is it possible to submit this letter to Home Office to show that she has made an arrangement to pay off her tax bill? If she submit that letter to home office is there any chance that her application will be successful or its now a straight refusal.

Please help

Thanks in advance

Hi all,

I have a question about the acknowledgement of your citizenship application. I have been reading in the TIMELINE forum and I've seen people mentioning they have received an acknowledgement of the online applications 1,2,3, 4 or more days after sending it. I have applied online and immediately after sending the application I've received an email with the confirmation of the payment and what to do next... I am not sure if that is what others call the acknowledgement of the application as that's all I have received.

I used the NDRS and I know the HO has received the copies of my documents as I had tracked the mail, but apart from that I have nothing and I am concerned if I am missing something.
Please let me know!! Thank you :?:

Hi everyone, first time poster, longtime stalker :D Please be kind!

Today I tried to book an appointment for NCS in November but my local council informed me that HO is phasing this service out and there will be no more appointments after October. Does anyone know anything about this?? I haven't seen anything on gov.uk.

It looks like I may apply online and use the document return service so as to avoid sending my passport away, but I feel a bit anxious not having the option to have someone check I filled everything in correctly and have all the right documents

I am also somewhat confused about whether or not I need to provide proof of national insurance contributions. I was self employed for some time, first as a sole trader and then director of an LTD. I have been employed for the past two years. So I have some p45s, some p60s, and some self assessment returns I could submit, but it's unclear whether or not this is actually required (SECTION 10 at the bottom of form AN asks for it, however apparently the checklist generated when submitting an online application makes no mention of it). I will be applying on the basis of 5 years' residence + 1 ILR (non EEA).

Thanks in advance!

Does what you put in the form differ at all, including all middle names, to what is stated in your passport?

Perhaps they just need confirmation due to various writing styles on forms.

So just reply and confirm your full details as it appears in your passport/birth certificate.
