Hi Guys, I have already received my approval letter, but my local council is offering me date of ceremony which is 3 weeks from now. I have asked them for the private ceremony with the extra cost because I have a plan for holiday. But they are saying they only do the ceremonies both group and individuals on Tuesdays only, and we have no appointment untill 3 weeks.

As per my knowledge private ceremony means you pay extra to get it done early, but if the solo ones are on the same days as group ones then why would you pay extra for private ones.

Anyone who has a experience with Glasgow council ?
Ceremonies and frequency is at the councils discretion and if they have availability. They have many other functions besides being available for ceremonies. If they don't have availability for a private ceremony, there is nothing much you can do and to be honest, 3 weeks from now is not that long. If you have holiday plans, reschedule your ceremony to a date once you are back.

Thanks

Date of application: 08/02/2019
Date Biometrics enrolled: 15/02/2019 UKVCAS new service appointment
Date on Approval letter: waiting

more than 5 months and still no answer, i have sent an email for an update only get the one most of us getting: (All applications are dealt with in application receipt date order. As you application was received on 8th February 19, It will take a while longer for your application to be considered. Once your application is decided, you will be contacted by your caseworker.)
and few days after got a letter explaining that the checking process is not yet completed, any one one with the same situation and what does it mean.
I applied on first of feb and received two letters both of them explaining that the checking process is not completed yet, so i guess we all on the same boat
I applied on 19 of December 2018 and after 8 months i just received the letter explaining that some complex issues are raised and they expect to make a decision on my application as soon as possible. I am totally shocked  , as I believe my application is straight forward. The only thing I am doing is just waiting, waiting and waiting.
Unbelievable,I received Email 10 mins ago from FMT: " Thank you for your e-mail

You will be contacted by post within 21 working days".
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I have received my approval letter on 12/08/2019 (after almost 8 months) and try to book private ceremony today coz I cannot wait anymore :D

This forum and its community has been the best resource I have come across ever since I applied for ILR.
Thank you very much to everyone who helped me out on this journey and I wish you all who are going through this the best of luck.

Hi,

I applied for myself and 2 children MN1 section 3(1) on 3rd June. Sent an email to home office for update they just replied,

Dear.....

Thank you for your email,

I can only comment that your application is ongoing in the application process. As you may be aware, our service standard is that we will complete 100% of workable and straightforward cases within six months from the date the application is received in the Home Office. The definition of a workable case, and what we expect from our customers, is available on our website at: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk- ... r-services.

Where further information is required, the case will not be classed as workable, and may take longer to decide.

Does this means that my application is with caseworker? How long it take time?

Thanks

Hi every one

Any one can help me against this

I applied for myself online on 12/08/2019 but by mistake i submit my application 1 day before to complete the 1 year time after getting ILR card, as my ILR issued on 13/08/2018. Is it a miner mistake or home office will refuse my application ?

As I know from a Solictor that if you applied before the completion of 1 year with ILR or PR you will be refused. In your application you applied one day before it may be a problem. Senior members will guide you more...

Hi, I might be in a similar position to yours. I applied on the 7th of April and still no decision reached by the HO. I emailed them three times. Twice I got the reply that my application has not been considered yet or assigned to a caseworker. Really like you, I do not know what to do.

I applied over six months ago and followed by email and I’m being told I’ve not been allocated a case worker. How can I put pressure on Home office to allocate me a caseworker . It’s so frustrating and it’s not a nice feeling not knowing what to do and how to chase it. Appreciate anyone’s comments if you have any good suggestions. Thanks !

You cannot 'pressure' HO to do anything. Citizenship is not a right or an entitlement, it is a privilege and HO will take as long as they need to do the checks before granting you the privilege.

According to citizenship act people suppose to get citizenship as long as they meet statutory n goos character requirement ,there are service standards in place but given the political environment at the moment any thing can be expected , Good luck to you ,contact to your MP hope you get fair treatment from HO

The UK does not have a Citizenship Act. Are you sure you are not confusing the UK with some other country?

People who apply can be naturalised at discretion (i.e. they have no right to it) if they meet the requirements stated in law. The checks to make sure that the statutory and other requirements are met can take as long as they take. There is no time limit on the checks.

I applied for my naturalisation on the 31st of January I called them a few days ago as my application time is now over the 6 month period that they gave me and I received “The simplicity or indeed complexity of an application cannot be known until it has been considered by a caseworker. Nevertheless, UKVI aims to complete 95% of cases within 6 months from the date of receipt. Therefore, it will take a while longer for your application to be considered. Once your application is decided, you will be contacted by your caseworker.”

What does it mean? What do I do now? Is my application even with a caseworker or not ? I’m so confused and I don’t know what to do now somebody anybody please help me I feel so hopeless right now

Indeed there is a "British Nationality Act "
Discretion element is very littlle, one's needs to satisfy the requirement
Yess checks needs to be completed in a reasonable time frame, as per rules .
