Dear khizarm,

May I ask how you phrased your email in order to get information from HO about when a decision was made on your case? Had you already been waiting six months?

Thanks,

PPTP,
Yes I did and after about 5 weeks I received bunch of papers.
Based on those paper they received my Naturalisation application and they have got record of all my emails which I chased my application but there is not any record of their mysterious checks which are carrying out by external agencies and they take longer than 6 months.
I'm sure you know HO excuse for delaying the aplications which is carrying out some of checks by external checks. I believe HO delays the application because they don't care about the applicants but the only thing which they care is application fee and as they get it beforehand and there is not any authority to question them about the delays and this unfair process so they treat us how they want.
Hello winter1234
I am fully and totally with you in the same board. I did my SAR and after a delay in reply got the answer. They also sent massive bunch of screenshots from their CID system. And apart from my application and fee being taken nothing has been done. That what made me furious and I came to the forum to share.

They delay application because there is not structure and trace of application in order they process plus bad management.

Try to arrange an official complaint with HO. If they not gonna provide a proper and clear answer, we have the right to push complaint further to Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.

Do it and people remember you work for this country and you have rights. You must not allow to be humiliated and treated bad way.

It's funny because this shows the disconnect, like people operating the phones and emails don't have a clear picture of what's going on. We can tell that no decision past the 13th of March has been mailed to people from the timelines thread (which makes sense given that the week after COVID kicked off), so a decision done on the 16th wouldn't have been mailed. So I'm not surprised people got conflicting answers on the phone.

People, calm the discussion down. These are uncertain times and the Home Office is not going to prioritise decisions because anonymous people on a forum are complaining about its procedures. It is time to be understanding, as @mr_iyamu explained so well. Kudos to him, especially for that last sentence.

Hello Guys,
I think we are utilising this thread to project only the flaws of the home office while forgetting how important their role is in national security and policing in this turbulent time.
Let’s thread with caution on making rash accusations as we don’t know what these people are dealing with 100%. Let’s face it, naturalising is not an essential service at the moment so these people fall into the category of people that ought to stay at home. I know how it feels to be waiting and checking here daily to see if anyone else got theirs. I do it daily as my application has been submitted for about 2 months now.
Please let’s focus on what’s at hand, appreciate what we have and Stay at home. If you are not working in essential service then I bet you are writing from the comfort of your home so it would be unfair to expect someone else to be out there investigating you at the expense of their family and loved ones because you paid £1349.00
Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. Stay Positive Folks. The Land shall heal and we would call it Home for generations to come.

The UKV&I contact centre is outsourced to a private company and people who answer calls and emails are not Home Office staff. So they may not have access to all the information.

Dear Simon
There is no need to say that and copy the extracts from the website. Before doing anything I investigate what and how it is done.
You know that my points of view are fully supported by other members of the forum. But people are afraid of complaining because there is too much hassle and some of them do not really know what rights they have to do to escalate. I am not afraid to complaint as I know I am right. If I am not, I keep silence.
All the best.

Hello Everyone,
My first post,
Applied in 6 December 2019 biometric 16 December 2019 and iam just worried about Good Character came mid 2004 applied for Asylum at entry but was refused and disappeared i then put in fresh claim in 2009 and was granted FLR and finally ILR February 2012
My question can HO refuse me in regards to 10 year legally in the UK and ask me to apply in 2022 or will the time ive put in fresh claim 2009 be counted.
Many Thanks.
Hello BoyTed.
As you got ILR from 2012 and it is over 8 years, I think that 10 years period will be irrelevant in your case. You have lived in the UK enough time for 5 years plus over 12 months of ILR. I do not think they will refuse.
Thank you
As far as I know you need to be 10 years legal in this country for your naturalisation to be completed, if he was untill 2012 without visa ( ilegally or overstay) and from 2012 he got a visa than 2022 is the year you should apply for naturalisation, you might be lucky if they dont check
So if good character requires ( you have to be clear 10 years you haven't broke the law)

Hello Guys,
Want to share, I have received a reply from Migration Team today. It seems they are working and processing naturalisation applications. However, they are not currently sure how they gonna send out the decisions. They advise to keep an eye on gov.uk for any updates.
So everything is working and applications are being reviewed.
Thank you

Hi All,

I just received a response from the Home Office today.

Good morning

Thank you for your email, I apologies for the delay in responding.

I can confirm your application has been successful however with the current situation regarding Covid-19 we are advising the following:

The Home Office will endeavour to process applications as quickly as possible but in the current circumstances applications will take longer than normal to process, including applications for British Citizenship. If you have submitted an application and are concerned about missing a deadline to enrol biometrics, provide additional information or take a citizenship ceremony, please be assured that extra time will be allowed and applications will be held open during this period. No adverse decisions will be made on applications because of delays caused by Coronavirus .

I don't know what this means for me or how reliable this is?

Hi Ace1983,

First of all congratulations. Just wanted to know did you enrol your biometrics? And do you know whether Home Office is processing and making conditional decisions of applications that haven't enrolled biometrics yet because of covid-19?

Many Thanks.

The email response very clearly says that applications will be held until biometrics are enrolled. Nothing will happen to your application until biometrics are done and ukcvas has submitted everything electronically to HO. It is only at that point that is is completely submitted for HO to start consideration.

I applied on 4th of Feb 2020 and got my biometrics done on 7th of Feb. On 17th March I received a response from MMST saying that I'll get the decision on post within 21 working days. Then today I received a response saying my application is successful. I can't really tell if they are processing the letters or applications until I get receive the confirmation by post.

I applied online on 3 Feb, biometrics done 25 Feb

Emailed the Home Office for an update and received this response. Used the NationalityBiometrics@homeoffice.gov.uk email

Good afternoon,

Due to staffing numbers being down your application may take longer than usual to process.
