I applied for Naturalisation 13th Jan and emailed HO for an update and below is the reply ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that a decision has now been made on your application, you should receive confirmation of this shortly.

The Home Office will endeavour to process applications and dispatch correspondence as quickly as possible, due to current circumstances this will take longer than normal to process.

Kind regards,
.

Hi Standrews,
Thanks for your post that gives information that you have emailed HO in past and then got a response. Would you kindly share HO email you used? My wife applied for Naturalization on 6 Dec 2019 and so far no response to our previous email enquirers on nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk
and CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk

Thanks in advance for reply.
Regards

I phoned them first, the customer service team advised me to email the following two emails

Nationality_Enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk

However, I got a response from Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk :)

Why did not just reply to the email and asked the HO the question you are asking here?

So, based on an earlier email from the HO about the caseworker having made a decision on my application, I contacted them to check if it has actually been dispatched. I got a strange response from them talking about citizenship ceremony documents. Are they indirectly telling me that my application is approved ?

Hello,

Which email address you contacted recently that replied you above about citizenship ceremony documents?

"Thank you for your e-mail, I hope you are well.

Upon investigation I can confirm that your citizenship ceremony documents have not yet been despatched to the local authority. Your citizenship paperwork will be generated in coming weeks when current restrictions due to Coronavirus are eased.

In normal circumstances customers were required to book their citizenship ceremony within three months of being sent an invitation from the Home Office. Due to the current circumstances we have extended this period to six months. We will keep this under constant review. Please be assured that no adverse decisions will be made on your application because of delays caused by Coronavirus (unless there is a material change in your circumstances, for example, you are convicted of a criminal offence).

Kind regards"

"Thank you for your email.

According to our records, the caseworker has made an decision on your application on the 9 March 2020. If you not received it already, you should receive it shortly.

However, if you not received the decision letter by 9 May 2020, I would advise you to either contact the Helpdesk by phoning them on 0300 123 2253 or send an e-mail the below address with your enquiry:

Nationality_Enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

I hope this was of some assistance."
Looking at your message it’s clear that your application being approved and they will send you invitation letter once council will be opened.

Its the decision letters which people are getting and have no role in ceremony unless you have HO invitation letter which have ceremony booking reference.

Looks like it is approved. You won't get ceremony document if it has been rejected. :) Congratulations

this is extremely annoying that whenever you ask to HO about update on your application, they replied an stupid answer that We aim to process all applications within 6 months from the date submitted.
I am thinking to withdraw my application if my fee refunded.
Please advice

Cancel your visa, immigration or citizenship application

I believe (but not sure) that you get a refund of your naturalisation fees less an administration fee of £25 if your application has not been decided when withdrawn.

That's correct, Nationality_Enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk is invalid.

You only get refund less administration fee if you haven’t enrolled your biometrics. Once biometrics has been enrolled you lose the fees paid for naturalisation. After biometrics, you will be refunded only the ceremony fee of £80 if you withdraw.

Quote
You applied in the UK
You need to cancel your application using the online form.

You can only get your fee refunded if you have not given your fingerprints and photo (‘biometric information’).

I also recieved a reply to my email to HO that says the following:
======
Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your email.

I am pleased to confirm that a decision has now been made on your daughters application, you should receive confirmation of this shortly, please allow at least 28 days from the date of this email.

The Home Office will endeavour to process applications and dispatch correspondence as quickly as possible, however in the current circumstances this will take longer than normal to process.

Kind regards,

I have received same email as a reply on 5th May and no updates since.
It is frustrating to seeing that other people who applied up to mid-March already got the PDF decision by email whereas we do not know whether our earlier applications were successful or not, right? Stressful times 🙁

My wife recently applied for naturalization but she has not received any automated response confirming receipt of her application, neither a case ID.

Personally, when applied in January, I received that confirmation on the same day of my application.

Should everyone got that confirmation email as well as their case ID?
