I've applied in early January'21 and submitted biometrics in early February. I am curious if writing to Home Office will speed the application up.
Or is there any way to know at which status is your application currently in?
I would appreciate any ideas/recommendations

Hi processing time for naturalisation is 6 months so I don't think writing will speed the process up. But you could send email and ask for status I think. There are couple of members here send emails and got the reply.

I applied on 11th Jan 21, got my biometric done on 15th Jan, and received approval on 31st March. I called my local council to book a ceremony on 6th April after a long bank holiday weekend. And my ceremony is now on 26th May, in two weeks time.

Good luck to you! I hope you'll hear from them soon.

I wasn't able to view mine for over 2 weeks. But today I was able to see my information. Guess it's not reliable in checking status.

Just wondering if anyone here was in a situation where they had to amend their citizenship certificate (due to wrong information on the certificate). if yes how long did it take for you to receive your amended certificate?

Hello everyone! Anyone applied in February received any reply from home office? Looks like they stopped to send replies due to good weather

It's just ridiculous on how they take funds off people and provide a crap service. Using covid-19 as lame excuse. The whole country is out and about, lock down eased yet still no improvement in service. We have no choice than to wait for as long as it takes them to process our applications. Terrible

I totally agree, after paying a fortune and 6 months or longer waits. And no contact at the point for application status check. They had online checks 3-4 years ago and nobody knows what happened. As you said excuses Covid-19 but now everybody back at their workplaces, 50% fully vaccinated but still nothing changed.

Hi everyone I’m just trying to guess which month HO dealing the cases but I can’t see any timeline. Cases I’m seeing mostly from December. Do you think what cause(s) except covid they start to deal cases so slow? Thanks.

Not sure, I applied in January and have been anxiously waiting, if they have recently progressed the December’s cases then hopefully I can hear mine in a month...

Are you also an applicant in February? What about the specific date? When can I write to inquire about the progress of HO?

Yes I am. What is the specific date? You can ask the HO for an update, I’ve seen one of member here already share with you an email address just ask for an update.

I just submitted my app 10 days ago and been tracking the timelines thread since the start of June.

It seems like more and more people are not getting an approval letter and get a ceremony invitation with longer average waits.

Just a theory for now as there's no way to know if they've changed the process unless they confirm it but let's keep an eye on how many people get approval and ceremony separate.
