So, I have decided to drop a line to Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk to check as our 6-month mark fast approaching. They replied back within a few hours only, and confirmed our approval! We are over the moon right now, thank you all, your messages and suggestions have been a huge help <3 We are now waiting for the invitation for ceremony, then passport applications and finally reaching the end of our immigration journey.

Hi everybody,

I received standard service email on 4th of August then radio silence. No replies to my emails even if I’m asking biometric issue resolved or not. Any experienced member can comment why I have received this email even if being late is their fault, why is affecting me? It’s really disturbing - as a customer I have done everything on time, correct and proper but the service they are giving is really disappointing. And on this point I’m thinking to raise formal complaint.

Thanks.

I am on the other hand still waiting and quite frankly fuming at the delay in my application.
I emailed on the 11th of August on Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk and didn’t get any response nor acknowledgement on my email.
I see that there’s quite a few applicants have been approved within a few past days who were also waiting like me.
I am now worried ….

Hi Echinol,

Which email address did you email to? I have emailed to nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk and NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and never received any answer from these two, apart from an automated standard message. I then emailed to furthernationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk two weeks ago, they said that they cannot inform me where the progress is as we are below the 6-month mark. Time is a bit tight for us, as we have to do primary school applications for my daughter from September so I dropped a line yesterday to Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk and they got back within a matter of a few hours, I guess only because the decision has been made so they had some information they could share. I believe they weren't going to reply if my case wasn't yet decided.

Best of luck, I am sure you will hear back very soon :) Fingers crossed :)

Do not worry :) I think you will hear back very soon then, as a lot of us who applied around the same or similar times are getting answers now, so I am sure you will too.:) I believe that they weren't going to reply to me if the decision was not made yet, so they are probably still in process with your case. Home Office works with external companies, waiting for confirmations from HMRC etc to confirm that you indeed paid tax etc so these are all factors which can slow it down. Wishing you best of luck, you will hear back soon about your decision too :)

Thank you for your kind words ☺️. Yes, I’m trying to keep positive and think rational about it.I did however email this morning to FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk and received an automated response with “wait for 20 working days and so on….” but at least there was a response. Then I sent another email back to Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk and there wasn’t even an automated acknowledgment of my email again 🤷🏻‍♀️.
At this point there’s nothing I can do anymore 😞 .

oh dear. In this case, what I can suggest is to contact your local MP. Your 6-month wait is over without a word from Home Office so you have the right to contact your local MP. This should help move the process.
Fingers crossed that this makes it faster and hear back ASAP.

Hi themisc,

Having the same issues with them not responding. I have sent maybe 10emails to all those known email addresses. Basically my case is that I had my application approved, but my invitation letter was either lost or not sent at all. I got one response where they said they will resend my invitation letter via tracked delivery and via email. That was week ago and nothing since. My case has been escalated already, but no result either.
My council asked me to send them recorded delivery letter, which I did, but no response too.
Going to contact my MP tomorrow. It is quite worrying as the registrar office said that the document they have with my name is due to expire in one month but they also refuse to book me for a ceremony without the invitation letter.

I can see that lots of February applications are having issues, but the total lack of communication from HO is causing even more pain.

We’ll, after emailing to FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk yesterday morning, I received a standard service letter the same day in the evening from MMST FMT mailbox. In the email they still blaming Covid for the delay 🤯!!!
Just another automated response. The Home Office is total shambles!
I can see some mentions of getting a local MP involved but based on my own experience I’ve had with one of my past applications, chances mine would assist are very slim…

Hi all

So I'm approaching 2 months since my AN application and I wanted to comment on SAR times.

When I submitted my application I reported all my travel dates and after biometrics I realised that one of the dates I reported might be wrong by one day (I traveled on day 10 and I typed 11) because I kept records of my travels on a spreadsheet but apparently the stamp date on the passport was different from my records. I'm not sure which one is absolutely right so I submitted a SAR to get all my travel records from UKVI and submit an email if I found an error.

SARs are supposed to take 30 days but mine is also approaching 2 months and I already got an email saying they're delayed.

So it looks like SAR are also delayed a lot longer than expected. I'm sharing this in case someone wants to get a SAR before their application, plan accordingly.

I am a bit confused regarding applying to my refugee travel document while my naturalisation for British citizenship get processed. My question is that should I tell home office(citizenship team)of the travel document application. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Echinol, I’ve been meaning to ask you about any progress on your application but seems you’re still waiting same as me 😖. I do not understand whyyyy it’s taking them so much time !??? My 6 months mark was yesterday and still no news. I even contacted my old neighbour just to check whether there was any post for me at my old address.I moved house 2 months later I submitted my application and updated HO immediately but I have no trust in them.
What’s going on???! This is really frustrating, especially seeing a lot of later applications as late as May getting approvals by now !

Hi - I just hit my 7-month mark yesterday, unfortunately no response at all. Update from HO 2.5 weeks ago after a chaser but with standard reply about processing as normal but delay due to COVID

Chased again a week ago but no reply anymore :(

Also wrote to my local MP who came back after 2.5 weeks and advised they requested an update from HO but normally wouldn't hear back sooner than 6 weeks

Endless waiting I guess...

Hi Mrsdoc,

No update or no outcome. I started to find excuses; now it’s bank holiday weekend-most of people on annual leaves. But I’m exhausted. Btw I emailed my MP and also called contact HO to open the case to track application with call reference. And I think I did all I can do. After this I decided I just gave up to chase them. As you and other people I’ll continue to wait.

I’m exhausted too just by constantly thinking about it. Of course, I now think that my case must be a non-straightforward one and it makes me paranoid. We just don’t know,do we 😣.
You’ve mentioned you called contact HO to open a case, can you provide some more info on that so I can follow this procedure as well?
I’m relay hopping that we’ll hear from them soon as it’s getting ridiculous now!

Hi everybody,

Anyone waiting for decision hear something from home office? Thanks.

Hi Mrsdoc,

I called the number on gov.uk website that’s 0300 790 6268- option 2-2-2 then they are asking full name, surname, UAN, application date, mobile no, email address and giving you a call reference no and saying it will take 15 working days. If not hear then call back and give this call ref no and they will check. I am sure we will hear soon but without knowing what is exactly happening background it makes people really frustrated I think.

Thanks.

ear team . I would like some one clarified something I am about to apply for naturalisation. On employment section question what type of employment and what is your occupation? As I am self employed I ticked self employed and on what is your occupation I put (uber driver ) . But I am doing few self employment jobs like amazon flex driver and Deliveroo. Do I have to mention all the self employment jobs or it’s enough to tick self employed and put only uber as it’s my main job the others jobs only few hours . If some one can advice me . Thank you
