Help required for naturalization application with simple caution

Post by Hopespring » Thu Jun 09, 2022 10:16 pm

Dear expertise,

During 2011 while I was on student I was given a simple caution by the police. On 2015 I mentioned this simple caution in my ILR application. I was granted ILR on 2015. Now I am applying online for British naturalisation. In the online from in the part Conviction and Other Penalties do I need to declare this simple caution as it been 11 years old since the police issued me a simple caution (following 6 years old filtering rule in DBS check and a non specific offence) in the application?
Also if I click on A caution, warning, reprimand or other out-of-court penalty in the application form it takes me to the next page where under Conditional Caution it says "...You do not need to declare a simple or youth caution". which makes me very confused as my caution was a simple caution and as a thumb rule I should be declaring any caution in the application as I did in my ILR application. But if I follow this application form my understanding is I do not need to declare my simple caution. Can you please provide me guidance?

Declare it. It should have no effect on your application, but let the HO be the judge of that,
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
