Mail to FNE

Post by SkilledWorker » Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:13 am

Hi all,

I applied for citizenship in Oct and havent heard anything so far. I wrote to FNE, and received no reply.

I was wondering if there is a form or way to write to FNE. I just wrote my application number in the subject of the mail and asked for my status. No reply, just autoresponse.

Thanks.

There's no formal setup to "chase" status of your application.
It looks you are still under the 6 months target - as a rule UKVI don't give meaningful updates.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Until April your six months processing time won't have elapsed. Until then, you will just receive auto replies when writing to FNE. After then, to chase, you can try the steps outlined here british-citizenship/6-months-plus-waiti ... 43483.html

I am in the same situation. Have applied 23/10/23 and haven't heard anything yet. Plus all my FNE recent emails has not been replied. The frustration is to see people that applied in November already getting their responses...

Every application gets assessed on a different timeline, until the 6 months have passed it is best to be patient.

Thank you for your reply. What do you mean with "its best to be patient"? Do you believe that chasing can be negative for the application?

I am saying that chasing before the 6 months standard processing time will only get you a boilerplate reply (if you get one, as you have experienced their reply times are slow) and no meaningful update, so it is best to be patient until then.

Thank you. I was just wondering because some people chase it and get a reply from FNE that their application is successful. Who knows how they work.

No one does really, except for them. In lucky instances, chasing before the 6 months may just happen to bring light to the fact that the application was about to be accepted anyway, other times it just stays in their inbox, sometimes they are just still processing the application. Impossible to know.

True. I have some civil servant friends that are caseworkers and work in different departments. It is random how they assign the cases. You just need to be lucky I suppose.

It seems like it, I only hope my application process time will at least align with the average.

I saw one Dec applicant got approved last week on the forum, so far the fastest one I have seen.

Does HO really only send the approval email on Monday?

HO never send acknowledgments of receiving documents/biometrics, you only get the automated emails from UKVCAS. If they haven't received some of the items you submitted they will get back in touch with you.

Have you emailed FNE and got the response from Nationality Biometrics or emailed Nationality straight away?
