The guy that answered the phone at ukba asked for my ref number and told me to hold while he checked the system for my records.

He then came back to tell me its not even with a caseworker as yet because his system is not showing any progress since fees were debited and applications could take up to 6 months  . Im surprised after takiing the fees so quickly its still sat there in a pile just waiting. I guess its late may for me then
Look, don't be surprised! they can tell you what they want even though if your application is being decided as the time to complete teh application is TECHNICALLY 6 months, so if I was you I wouldn't have called them in first place. You better just don't think about it and 1 day the brown envelop( although I haven't seen mine yet :) ) will be in your house before you know it. ;)
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.
HO received on 27/02/2012.
Refusal received on 16/08/2012 dated 11/08/2012
At the court, the HO REP withdrawn the decision and asked me to send the DOC for the time before marriage.
PR dated 05/03/2013

First of all and after thanking Allah, i would like to thank all of you guys who have been sharing your timelines, it has been of great help to have an idea of when i will receive my approval

And a very special thank you to the Admins of this forum, you guys are doing a much better job than the HO. I honestly think your guys are best suited to work for the HO, you would have made our life much easier.. I have used this forum for years now, since I divorced my ex EEA wife and applied to retain my right of residence until today when i finally got my citizenship approval letter..

The minimum i can do after thanking you again is share my timeline

Eligibility criteria: Retained right after divorcing an EEA national, 1 year PR
Language criteria met: , UK Degree + life in the uk test
Method of application: NCS Camden
Date of application: 1st March 2014
Payment method: Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 05 March 2014
Date of acknowledgment: 10 March 2014 (dated 07 march)
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 07 March 2014
Date approval received: 17th April (dated 7th of April)
Date of ceremony: 23rd April

Notes to add:
I sent an email to the UKBA (FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) on the 4th of April inquiring about my application, first I received an Auto Reply with a standard email so I assumed I wont be getting an other reply. Got an email on the 15th of April saying that my application had been processed and a decision was posted to me on the 7th of April. I then called the HO and was told that it was actually printed on the 7th but only posted on the 14th (one week to post a bloody letter!!) So I finally received it today and called the council and booked the ceremony for the 23rd of this month.

Long journey is over, and I am relieved to never think that I need to be interrogated every time I fly back to the UK.. as I find that really irritating..

Thank you all and BEST of luck to those still waiting

Congrats mate!
i sent my application on the same day as yours! now you already had a ceremony date but i'm still waiting for my bloody invitation to book mine! well jel :(
did you receive the approval letter and the invitation letter in one envelope?
Many thanks!

Thanks tunjy... Looking at the thread you mentioned will be a tedious job :)

For now, I would stick to the monthly thread which is much tidy and precise :D

thanks for man4uni!!

I am one of you and waiting for my letters. I can see some people are before me still waiting as well. But who knows. Now it is a bank holiday and it may delay the process time a bit.

I am sure HO will not during the holidays. Really expecting the postman by Tuesday! lol

Seems March applications hit a speed bump cause the forum has gone silent. Looks like May before the rest starts rolling in.

Hi all,

I phoned the council today asking if they received any letter from the home office for me. They confirmed that they have received the approval letter yesterday, so I booked a private ceremony.

Still waiting for the approval letter from the home office.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

BW,

Mohamed

Can we just call council and ask that? I didn't know that, I applied through the citizen service at council and it's been almost 4 weeks since HO received my application. Should I call the citizen service?

I think home office delay the approval letters to allow the council to get the certificates first. Some people have memtioned that when they received their approval the letter stated not to call the council until they contact them. So I guess after they approve and type the letters, they delay sending until the council have received the certificate.

Maybe if you wait for 10-14 days before calling them as in my case it is about one month and 10 days since home office received my application.

Good luck!

Do we have to ring the council from where we live or the council from where we used NCS is? ( I applied through NCS from different city as there was no NCS in my town!). Thanks
